I don't think we've scratched the surface with Frank. He's a little young. He has some ready-made tools, like defense and a 3, but I do think he's gonna be much better on the offensive end, too, if we can give him a chance to grow.

We still gotta be patient with these guys. I remember last year, guys were hating on KP, and not willing to give him a chance to lead the offense. He looks good now, but we gotta stay committed to his growth, when he's doing well and killing players, and when he screws up. It's all gonna be a growing opportunity for him.

We're gonna have to do the same with Frank. Yah, he looks good now, because it's his first flash and we love our rookies. But what happens when the games get hard and Frank's weaknesses get a little exposed? In those cases, just gotta be patient and realize that it takes a while before young players really take that next leap; in the meantime, it gets a little ugly. Same for this year. I think KP will probably have a few ugly games, but I'm okay with that. That's rebuilding.

Frank wowed even me out there tonight.

He made Kanter and McDermott look like serviceable defenders. He made KOQ look like a legit center. He was giving orders to THJ on both ends.

Is this kid really 19?

Can I say FLOOR GENERAL

A couple times up the floor, Timmy kinda waved Frank off and took the ball up the court himself. The second time, however, Frank said "No, give me the ball" and Timmy gave it up.

Didn't see the game but WOW the comments on Frank! Christmas at Halloween! Can this really be Knicks? But now another worry - going forwarfd are the people in charge Frank fans or THJ fans? Was Phil Frank's #1 booster? I'd like to hope the future additions are made by the good guys not the alternative.

Frank really is smooth! He plays under control and makes others around him better! Can't wait to see him once he gets some experience. Special! And I'll gladly admit I was wrong about KP not taking that NBA next level leap! Dude's a BEAST and that rolling left handed dunk!?!?!?!!! DAMN!!!!!!!

Looks like Phil really got an unfair treatment here.

All 3 picks (one as a trade) will turn out to be some of the best signings for any GM within a 2 year span.

I wonder what a triangle would look like with them as well? Zingis deadly from that elbow, Willy great passer, Frank too.

Can you blame him for wanting to get rid of Melo?

Phil is a hero

He got us 3 excellent young pieces, put us in position to get a 4th, and ultimately led to Melo leaving, even if it came at the cost of his position as president of basketball operations. Best position the franchise has been since the Ewing days.

mad respekt for phil. He sacrificed himself for the Knicks. He is literally Knicks Jesus...wow

Wouldn't trade Frank for anyone in this draft class, including Lauri (could be a franchise player), LONZO, FOX (as well as he's been playing, plays kitty defense), JOSH, ugly shooting Fultz.

Only rookies I'd trade Frank for are Tatum and Simmons.

Preach bro. We are literally in unchartered waters as Knicks fans. Unless youre old as **** we haven't developed a player since Ewing. I was 5 when he was drafted so that doesnt count.

We gotta be patient. Lots of growing pains ahead but man we could be legit contending for 10 years once these youngins grow up.

JohnWillow wrote:I'm never wrong with my European scouting, said that Hezonja might not pan out because of his attitude before the draft two years ago and said KP will be a star.
Last year said Dragan Bender will not be anything like KP... impacting the game from the start because I didn't trust the league he was playing in Europe, I said Juancho will be good because of the ACB league and he is showing a lot of promise now.
This year's draft I was all over Frank, was hoping that Kings pick him up, but it was not happening so I said it was the right pick for the Knicks.

Never doubt me about this.

And you are a Hanga fan as well, which is a huge plus.

levendis wrote:One of Frank's better skills is his shot... He's just not the type of PG who breaks down defenses. So he'll probably never be a great scorer, but he'll hit 3s, play great defense, and have great court vision/passing. What more do you want?

Ans - Breaking down defenses.
I don't even say that sarcastically. The guy is 19, 2nd youngest in the NBA and can already play pretty good. Once his body fills out, he might very well get that burst of speed (even at 6'5"). Giannes pt II...

Alright, Frank, I see you. I must admit, I thought that Frank was definitely going to have a tweener problem but he can definitely man the point in the future. What I liked the most about this performance was how active he was on defense. I imagine that there will be times where he gets burned, but his iq man. It's just wow.

Frank looked like a star out there. The B-ball IQ, the fluid movement, the length, the willingness to be a two-way player, the passing, the shot, even when it didn't fall it looked good, honestly, he looks like the total package. It will come down to his mental fortitude and health. If he stays healthy, sky is the limit.

vallen wrote:i suppose there were conflicting scouting reports on his shooting. ill leave it at that.

bottom line he needs to get that shot to sink to be an effective starting PG in this league. hell with that defense and vision, dare I say he can be special if that shot becomes consistent. either way im already mind blown with his early play. he just may deserve that stating job sooner rather than later. he was the catalyst to this win tonight. keep it up.

Frank is a young guy and young guys can make quite quick leaps in all areas of their game. And this was witnessed in the Euro championships:

6'5 French guard and potential lottery pick Frank Ntilikina turned in an impressive six-game performance at the 2016 FIBA U18 European Championships in December, leading France to a title despite battling an illness early on in the tournament. After scoring only 7.3 points per game through the first three contests, Ntilikina finished the tournament averaging 22.7 points, 6.7 assists, 3.2 steals, 1.7 blocks and 5.0 turnovers per 40 minutes on 42.4% from two-point range and 58.6% from three-point range. - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Frank-Ntilikina-77051/ ©DraftExpress

I told y’all you d love Frank!

I was still impressed myself. He should start by Xmas, if not before.

Where are the dummies who said he’s a SG ?

He’s looking like Rondo with a good character and a jump shot. He made instant impact when the Nets were toying with these guys in the first quarter. We looked like in Boston early on, and Frank stopped the bleeding. Found Lee for the open three, KOQ twice inside, you can tell his heart was beating hard, but he found his range in the 2nd half.

On a side note, Porzingis reminded me of a young Ewing tonight with the post moves. Gotta give him lot of credit for three 30 pts games in the first 4 games. Even Ewing never did that.

Can’t believe Frank made it look so easy and we won by 20 with Hardaway still stinking up.
Hardaway should benefit from Frank when they start together, but i’d like to see Frank, Lee and McDermot starting, with Kanter & KP up front.

This season may be fun after all. Gotta hope they all stay healthy.
