You guys act like embiid creating his offense is a bad thing, the reason his assist percentage is so low is because we dont run any PnR .. thats a MAJOR reason why

He is so naturally and physically talented that he has stepped into the league already able to excel.

He also is slowly getting more comfortable and figuring out what is effective, and what he can get away with. At the end of this season I think he will be a lot better than he is today.

Then in the off season he has to work HARD on his jump shot.

I think 3 more jumpers went in tonight.

Speak it into existence.

Funny how after all the Embiid love and admiration, Simmons might end up being our best player.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

From the moment we won the lottery I felt that we had two franchise players, and I still believe that.

Once you get to that level of player I think that the separation between them comes from the neck up.

I still believe that, in say 3 years, that Embiid is going to be our best player because he starts with the base of complete defensive dominance. No matter what Simmons becomes overall he will never be able to affect a game defensively like Embiid can. 7’2 285 is just physically hard to overcome.

Put it this way, if Simmons is going to be better than a healthy Embiid then he is going to have to turn into an all time great, which isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

The best thing is that it doesn’t matter who is better. They compliment each other beautifully.

They need to run more pick and rolls for Embiid though. Could say the same for Simmons...

It's great being able to just sit back and enjoy Ben playing ball.

Us Aussies have been waiting years to see him tear up the league.

This team is in a great position.

Something Simmons did a lot in College and hasn't so far in the NBA. Attacking the rebound on misses. Also notice tonight that instead of laying it up looking for contact he went hard and dunked it. Hopefully coaching staff were in his ear telling him to just dunk whenever he gets close to the rim.

It's amazing how much better Ben is than everyone in his draft class. We really lucked out.

I agree. The combination of Brett Brown and Ben Simmons(and eventually Fultz as well) has to figure out the best way to utilize Embiid offensively. The current method of giving it to him and hoping he can score it is inefficient.

The pick and roll may not be the best way to do that with Simmons because of his shooting woes, but surely with Fultz it should be effective.

I cant believe there were really people that thought he would only average like 10 PPG.

Hes just so great to watch. Couldn't be happier as an Aussie and a Sixer fan.

We have 2 franchise players.....that is 'the process'.

People Post GSW's emergence a few years ago are so blindly enamoured with the Jumpshot that they cannot fathom anymore that a guy could be scoring 17.5 PPG as a Rookie while only taking Jumpers when wide open or when the shot clock runs out. People cant imagine a Great Player who doesnt shoot at least 5 Threes a Game..

And i think people severely underrated Bens overall athletism.. People questioned Bens quickness(he broke Sprint Records at LSU) and some even said he looked slow.. but anybody who had watched Ben alot knew that it is his deceptiveness.. he has an amazing First Step for a guy his size and in the Open Court he almost aproaches Lebrons Top Speed. Even in a Game where he shoots no Jumper he still can get basically anywhere on the Floor because of his athletism and Size.

He is also screwing over defensive Plans.. You cant even sag off him properly because he is fast and strong enough to still get by or through the defender.

He is now at 17.5 PPG 9.5 RPG 7.5 Apg along with 1.7 Steals and 0.5 Blocks with only 2.8 Turnovers.. and he shoots over 50% FG now..
And his advanced Stats are equally as Impressive.. Offrtg 110 Defrtg 105. OBPM 2.5 DPBM 2.5 BPM 5.0 and a PER of 22.2 If he keeps it up he would be one of the most Effecient Rookies ever.

People laughed at me(mostly over at the General Board) when i Predicted Ben would have a very Simillar Rookie year to Magic in terms of Stats.. so far Ben looks like he is just doing that. Its almost identical.
I am totally hyped that Ben in some ways looks even better than i hoped. That he is already making Clutch Jump Shots is a very, very good sign that in time his Jumper will be fine.
