^Kent Bazemore has the fourth largest contract in franchise history.

That still blows my mind.

Moose is not a starter.
(Baze neither, but...)

Thoughts from opening night:

1. Way too little recognition of Sap. They just started playing his video with no announcement or anything. Weak.
2. Arena renovation was a huge step in the right direction. 200 level seats are fantastic now. The whole place looks better
3. Philips? Come on man. After halftime all the scoreboards are out for 10 minutes. Having to announce the score after each basket. How friggin embarrasing. The stat screen at the end of the arena was never right.
4. Courtside bar? That's a joke. One, you can only go if you bought the courtside seats that are in front. But it's not a bar. It's just a big logo you can lean against. They aren't serving drinks there or anything. Seems like a big gimmick, waste of space.
5. Delaney. please bud
6. Baze looked decent I have to say.
7. Marco. I'm a huge fan of Marco but he's too slow to defend. I wanted him in the starting lineup over Baze but there's just no way. He can't get back to his man if he's pulled away and it leads to a lot of open 3s.
8. Dennis was good for the most part. His body language is terrible though. We used to complain about Teague but Dennis is worse. I know that's his 'style' but honestly he's coming off as way too slack and arrogant.
9. Prince is going to be really good. He already is but once he get's his ball handling under control watch out.

I still want more Collins in crunch time. The guy is just a difference maker.

One thing i forgot from this game. Dedmon is a good center but his hands are pretty bad. Seems to drop everything thrown his way. Hopefully it's just early season jitters.

Yeah. We're starting to see why he's been relegated to role of backup Center most of his career. He's still a solid pickup on a good contract, though.

But, solely a short term role player.

7 games in, a look at the numbers:
Read on Twitter

In the five games Schröder has played this season, the Hawks have averaged 103.6 points per game, and the offensive rating when Schröder was on the court was 100. When Schröder was sidelined for two games with an ankle injury, the Hawks averaged 89.5 points per game and the offensive rating with Schröder off the court is 98.3.

Three-point shooting
The Hawks, as you can see, don’t hoist a lot of threes per game (21st overall in attempts per game) but the ones they do take they hit fairly often. To shoot 37.4% from three and rank 8th in the league in three-point percentage is not too shabby at all.
The Hawks can thank Marco Belinelli and Taurean Prince for these numbers — Belinelli is shooting 55% from behind the arc on 5.5 attempts per game while Prince is shooting 50% on 3.4 attempts per game.
As much as you can’t expect Belinelli and Prince to continue to shoot over 50% from three, don’t expect Luke Babbitt to shoot 25% from three as he is right now.

Freethrow Percentage
The Hawks rank first in the league at something — free throw percentage. Quite the turnaround from last season, though it’s obviously very early still...
The Hawks ranked 28th last season in free throw percentage, 72.8%, largely thanks to Dwight Howard (53.3% from the line).
Marco Belinelli and Ersan Ilyasova are both perfect from the line, so far, Dennis Schröder is shooting 90% from the line, Dewayne Dedmon is shooting 89% while Taurean Prince is shooting 83% from the line.
There have also been big improvements at the line from Mike Muscala and Kent Bazemore. Muscala is up to 90.9% from the line having shot 76% last season while Baze is shooting 89.3% this season having shot 70.8% last year. This is particularly impressive from Bazemore, who is also getting to the line four times a game this year having got to the line 2.3 times last season.

Turnovers
....turnovers have been a good story so far this season for the Hawks, as they’ve committed an average of 14.4 per game, ranking 5th in the league.
Last season the Hawks were not a great team when it came to turnovers — 28th in the league with 15.8 per game.
Dennis Schröder — to his credit — has improved so far this season in this department, as he has cut down his turnovers from 3.3 a game from a season ago to just two a game, while the 2.3 turnovers Dwight Howard committed per game last season has been replaced by a steady one a game by Dewayne Dedmon. The only negative when it comes to turnovers is Taurean Prince. Prince is averaging 3.3 turns per game

And Ersan is shooting something like 16% from 3. I expect our attempts to go way up once we learn the best ways to get the good shooters open.

And it is a 'new' offense, even for the returning players.
I want to see us play better defense though
We miss you Bembry!!

Watch the "Dumb Daddy" commercial we see regularly on TV. The 10 year old son points out that NBA games
are "NEVER" sold out. All you have to do is go to their page and get tickets and they are always available and
they are never fake.

Now days, dads are always weak minded in commercials. This is just another example. Now remember, there
is no such thing as being sold out. If you don't believe this, watch the commercial!

Lmao the dad is so aloof I'd like to date the mom!-KG

Ps I'm out of town and have missed the last two games but read the threads anyway. Need to go back and watch.

The mom looks like one of the Curry Wives.

Anyways, did anyone note what the crowd reception was for Millsap? Not sure why it hit me a week later to ask.

Also, welcome back Spud2. One more strike and they might put you under the jail, bro. #FreeSpud2

Nice timing KG ...just got back last night from a road trip for a week. Just saw the Nuggs game and was wondering the same about Sap and the reception he received.

We seem to be in every game..until the end where we have no established closer...they had Sap and he worked us at the end in the usual Sap way. Gary Harris is underrated but don't tell Alex...:-| Mason Plumlee is still dribbling up the court...(he needs a shrink to tell him he's not jokic and never will be..) and oh boy were we hot from 3 in the first quarter...12 of our first 14 points overall were on 4 three pointers...we can shoot...we hustle ..but we lack discipline, experience, etc.

Young team playing hard and growing together...I'm not mad.
