If Lonzo Ball makes his team so much better why are they still being outscored by 8 points when he's been on the court including being -15 yesterday.

Also NBA.com has his OFFRTG as 90.6. DEFRTG 101.2. So I'm not sure what those numbers are but the math equals -10.6 not +8.8

I don't remember anyone here who really clamored for Ball or Jackson. Really?? I would have thought that they would at least comment on their draft analyses no??

So for the people who were adamant that the best 2 prospects are Ball and Jackson....what are your thoughts now ?

I've watched some Laker games and no Suns games but Ball so far has looked the most worrying while Jackson's stats at least look more respectable.

i had fultz at the top of the prospect list, and dsj second. ball had too many flaws and played in an offense that had good shooters all around him. i thought he was more athletic than people gave him credit for though. i think i had josh jackson third on the list, thought his athleticism was overrated, short wingspan, and terrible jump shot, good defender though.

To be fair Unbreakable, while a major Ball fan did accept and acknowledge that he has been playing trash, gotta respect that.

There's still quite a few who think Ball will be a transcendent talent - if you just look at his raw numbers, assists, rebounds it would give you some hope if you are in that camp. What's inflating those of course is the pace of play which is much faster than historically. If you watch actual play though you'd see how far behind he is just in terms of talent compared to some of these other rooks.

It was was Josh Jackson for me 3rd. 1st it was fultz. I liked DSJ he's just too small to be selected there at 3rd other people were suggesting trading back for him I wasn't opposed to that.

I wanted to avoid Ball at all costs unless we traded back and he fell. Fox I also wanted to avoid because of the fit with Simmons and the questionable shot.

Honestly, what is it game 6 into the season? I'd probably still wouldn't change a thing Fultz once he gets healthy is probably the best guard in the draft. I liked Tatum too just not 3rd I had him below JJ.

Yeah most the members here do a good job with that and aren't afraid to admit when they are wrong. There is only one member that really doesn't.

For me there is so many known and unknowns in the NBA and even moreso when it comes to drafting. Everyone is going to be wrong if there was some sort of secret formula we had access to GM's would as well.

All I look for really is sort of sound logic whether it comes from GM's or fans. If they can explain and argue why they made the correct decision convincingly then what can you do. If the process is sound then you are going to have more hits then misses on average so you just sort of have to take your lumps. What I have a problem with is when they can't explain their thought processes. Like when the guy who drafted Andrea Bargani says he didn't draft Drummond because he didn't believe he loved the game and the guy he drafts instead is Ross.

Tatum continues to be awesome for his age.

Already one guy owning his mistake saying he should not have ranked Fultz as the best prospect. Good on him for seeing his errors.

I mean, it's still early to say anything about Fultz yet. I'd say on the other side of this injury, if he looks like garbage, then we can say it.

we're 5 games into the season and fultz is sitting out with a shoulder injury. so now that lonzo looks like ass cheeks, you're hopping on the tatum bandwagon, and then when tatum levels and looks like a rookie, and dsj or josh jackson starts playing better, you'll hop on their wagon, so on and so forth. Image

do me a favor and never root for fultz, especially when he plays up to his #1 draft status. smfh

I’m not on the Tatum bandwagon. I didn’t think he would be THIS good THIS early but I did like him a lot. And I don’t want to see him do well because he’s a Celtic but I call it like I see it. I’m trying to be unbiased. He’s a stud. And I am rooting for Fultz. Me being critical of him doesn’t mean I’m not rooting for him. I say Embiid has played dumb this year and is out of control. I’m still rooting for Embiid though. I hope Fultz becomes great. I really do.

Josh Jackson on a 2 game doo doo spree. I'm not sure if the benching hurt his confidence.

Lonzo had 9 points at 3/10 shooting again with 4 assists, but man those points and assists were impactful.

I really haven't watched enough celtics games to tell you whether his performance is for real. Sometimes you can tell early with Simmons namely when a prospect flashes physical ability that you can see is special and they are explosive.

When a player shoots the basketball however it's different. Players can get in a hot streak and that sort of warps your evaluation of him. I need more time before I'm completely sold on Tatum.

Let’s not forget that it is still October. People shouldn’t be changing their opinions on prospects this quickly.

Prospects aren’t drafted to see who is the best player in the first month of their rookie year.
