It's actually not that uncommon that official scorers get things wrong. We just fail to notice them as they are the only people actually keeping track of it. Tim Duncan supposedly missed a quadruple double in the finals due to mistakes by an official scorer.

Speights. Easy. He blew it up for us. For a long while I wasn't feeling like a win was tilted in our favour.

I'm in Europe so was up late watching and I was trying not to laugh at loud after every 3 Speights made after his first few and wake up my girlfriend who was sleeping. He lit it up!

It's nice to see the Magic capable of good 3 point shooting from so many different players. I know we won't keep up these high %'s but it's clear we've become far more determined as a team. Keep it up Orlando Magic!

I dunno about that Duncan deal. They can correct stats after the game, and do so all the time if someone brings it up and it is deemed "worth it". I feel a quadruple double in the Finals would get the attention it needed and have the stat line updated if that were the case.

But yea, score keepers miss a lot. Heck, assists are probably the most arbitrary statistic. Some score keepers give them out like candy, others are very stingy about it. Sometimes it's based on the players reputation.

I guess they pressed number 7 by mistake instead of number 1 because they looked similar on the computer screen.

You both appear to be right. The block wasn't the only mess up. They initially credited one of Gordon's rebounds to Simmons. Woke up this morning and AG now has one extra rebound and Simmons has one less. Isaac still missing his block though.
