I think so too, but would also want to credit SJ for taking advantage of his opportunity. He's had some games where he struggled with his shot (don't they all) but he has embraced his defensive role with a will. But I agree, AB and SJ's defensive effort is contagious as it's hard to stand around and not look bad. Bradley is a fine guard who you pay if you don't have to wreck the team.

Beyond not wanting to look bad when your teammates are playing hard defense, when there's a ton of pressure on the ball you get easy steals just being alert & aggressive.

I'm sure SVG wouldn't consider any of that 'unintended consequences?'
Is it fair to give him credit?

LOL... I give SVG lots of credit. Sometimes too much. After seeing how well he had Brandon Jennings and DJ Augustine playing I expected him to do the same with Steve Blake & Beno Uhdri

I'd trade a first in the right deal with no real qualms. Maybe wait another 15 games and see where we are. Quality of player coming back would reflect the level of protections on the pick.

I'd trade a pick but not for Kanter.

Especially considering he has a PO and Rich Paul is his agent. NYK likely wants that cap space themselves anyways.

Can we please drop this narrative? What happens when Paul has half the NBA as his client base? Do the Pistons just close up shop? It's not even clear that SVG and Paul has some strained relationship. Paul is a d*ck in contract negotiations. That wouldn't matter 2 sh*ts in this scenario because we wouldn't even think about wanting Kanter back at big money.

With that said, I wouldn't really want him.

Paul has about a dozen players. He'll have none once LeBron retires.

Why? He's doing a pretty good job of getting his clients paid a lot of money.

You're right, LeBron's going to disappear to Alaska when he retires and not have any effect whatsoever on his business.

KCP only got paid by the Lakers because they want to sign James next off-season. Nerlens Noel left $17M AAV on the table to sign the QO. He used his connection with LeBron to get TT ridiculously overpaid in Cleveland as well.

Not really. If you look down his client list, his only real successes are Tristan Thompson and JR (aka guys who are on Lebron's team when the FO has absolutely no leverage). His aggressive approach has made KCP and Nerlens actively lose money this offseason. And he's been publically unsuccessful negotiating for Bledsoe to get a new contract. There's really no evidence that he's a good agent.

I'm of the belief "doing a job of getting his clients paid a lot of money" and "he's a good agent" are 2 totally different things.

I thought Bledsoe held out and got the money he wanted after having a knee surgery. We don't know what Noel or even KCP might get this off season.

I guess I didn't consider Bledsoe's first contract. So I'll give that to him. I was referring to the current situation, where Bledsoe was pushing for a contract extension prior to being sent away from the team.

I am very skeptical that those two recoup their money. Particularly KCP, his biggest leverage by far was the Pistons' desperation and lack of cap space, and Rich squandered it by pushing too hard.

Yeah he did kinda screw KCP but Noel may be ok.

gotten rid of iso Morris is one of the biggest addition by subtraction I've ever seen.

We just beat the last unbeaten team and the defending champs back-to-back in around 15 hrs, while grasping the best record in the NBA, and we're 15th on ESPN's power rankings. Moving up ONE spot.

Looking forward to see how the pistons show up tonight. We've had the habit of playing down to the opposition level. If we shed that awful habit we have a real chance of having a great season. If we come out with the same intensity and focus, and play together we should beat this Lakers team

Gs wasn’t undefeated. Doing it on their court is nice

It's been a downfall of ours for a while. Play good against good teams and think we can just waltz through bad teams but get embarrassed instead. If Pistons come out strong tonight it would be a refreshing sign.
