I've been saying they were weak up front since before the season started...
Messing around with trade checker they can get Tyson Chandler for Lin, Quincy Acy, Sean Kilpatrick it's a good thing they still have Randy Foye's rights he makes the trade go through. Zeller can't be traded until December. All of the players traded are expendable and trading a pick for him is as MDB would say a Billy King move.
PHX doesn't care about winning and will get a point guard back when they trade Bledsoe so Lin and Foye not playing would be ok with them.
We could pick up Ben Udoh to be the 3rd string pg then using the dpe.
if you were Phoenix, you would take that trade?
If I were Phoenix, I'd absolutely do that. I could be 100% wrong but I don't think Chandler is really leading those young guys well.
This deal would give PHX a player who always leads by example whether he's suited up or in a suit. Not only is Lin cheaper, he could opt out and give them more cap space this offseason. While I doubt big FAs would consider them, they could at least offer cap space for bad contracts and picks like we did in order to obtain more assets while their young guys grow up.
It's a terrible move for the Nets. We'd be giving up 2 healthy 3pt shooters and taking on a guy who's only good for lobs. Additionally, we'd be trading away the player who the front office and coaching staff believe is the ideal model of professionalism and leadership for the team. This is completely antithetical to Markinson's ideology.
Why would we give up so much to gain so little, if anything at all. If we did such a trade, people would start asking why there's such a lack of 3pt shooting on the bench.
I disagree Lin's out for the season and Kilpatrick is being used as a point guard not as a scorer off the bench. For them he would go back to the instant offense off the bench player. You gotta give up something to get something.
