I'd like to get Okafor too.

According to espn's RPM and b-ref's BPM, Okafor is bad defensively but he's far worse offensively.

Advanced stats tell me Devin Booker, TJ Warren and Dragan Bender all suck ass too.
Okafor averaged 17.5/7 as a 19/20 year old rookie. He can probably be had for super cheap. Why not take a chance on him and see if he's improved? In theory, a duo of him and Len is really nice to move forward with. Let's take that chance.

Troy Daniels and TOR #2 for Okafor? We can absorb the extra money, PHI gets shooting they need locked in cheaply for 2 years. We would need to have moved Chandler to make that work, though. The tough part is we would need to extend/ re-sign both Len and Okafor next off-season. If we got Ayton or Bamba somehow it would soften the blow, but it's not an ideal situation. I'd rather have a center already and feel confident to grab Bagley.

It doesn't say they are near worst in the league bad though. He had the 3rd worst RPM in the league last year, two spots below Brandon Knight. The only guys lower were Wade Baldwin, who was a first round pick and waived, and Mario Hezonja.

I mean I guess it wouldn't hurt to try him out if we don't care about winning this year and I imagine he wouldn't cost much of anything. I don't really expect McD to try and trade for him though, unless they are after Bledsoe and he is a piece that comes back, but there is no rumored interest in Bledsoe and I am sure they want to give Fultz all the minutes he can get when he's healthy. Meanwhile Jerryd Bayless and TJ McConnell are playing well for them, particularly since the offense runs through Simmons but they are both capable of running it themselves when he is not playing.

Bucks need to break off one of their young players. Dont want Delly, and Monroe doesn't really fit in my mind.

We could have taken two top prospects at least. Maybe 3.
That would mean we pulled an Ainge. At least our youth is getting playing time.

Okafor can block shots... And score 20 inside. I'm fine with him to try to develop.
Suns need inside presence to open up outside.
What's key is a defensive guard who will make the Hardens, Currys, Pauls, Lillards etc work for their points. The elite team's have fire power on the perimeter... You have to contain them and not allow them to score at high efficiency against the Suns... Which is an issue for the last half decade... Basically perimeter defense sucks for Suns.

I would take a flyer on Okafor. What do we have to lose at this point?

I think Okafor can work out well for us. Imagine him playing the 5 for us while Bender playing the 4 to cover up his defensive mistakes...

I wouldn't mind taking a shot on okafor but assuming his option isnt picked up today it might be best to just wait until this summer and offer him a short cheap contract. At that point they will have a much clearer picture of the center spot. The draft and what they do with chandler and len will have a big impact on what they can and should do long term at center.
Plus the role as bench big scorer is probably where he'll salvage his career and thats exactly what they signed williams to be.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

I do not want Okafor at all. He is probably the worst defensive player in the league and we NEED defense.
He does not have work ethic, he has slow feet and he does not give a **** about defense. You can not put on the court a C that does not care about defense.
He has some post moves, but he has regressed every year. He is not THAT good on offense because he does not work hard to improve.
Amir Johnson and R. Holmes are better players than him, that is why he is not even a bench player anymore.
$6.3M next year is a lot of money for a C like that. We have Bennett on the G-League already.

Its funny how all the conjecture is that Sarver is the ultimate unreasonable person that McD is presenting these offers to Sarver who is rejecting them. The is McD's baby. I have no doubt that it is McD who is rejecting any offers. We get this whining "How can you be asking for soooooooo much!?? You should be giving him to us at a discount because we NEEEEEEEED him and he has devalued himself!!!!"

And to think that A LOT of people thought Okafor would be better than KAT in college.
Whew.
he's just falling apart... hopefully he'll find some 'Kanter's role' in some other team.

A team like the Spurs or Grizzlies will quickly pick Okafor up, those teams can use another inside scorer next to their defensive big men.

Okafor has not regressed every year.... he has been buried on the bench.
With minutes he produces.

Re: Season Speculation, Trade Ideas & Discussion Pt. 2
Okafor is better than Len offensively by about a million miles... so he's an upgrade in that end for sure. Having someone like him deep down in the post will draw defenders in.
He is Enes Kanter but with lesser rebounding but twice the shot blocking abilities....

Re: Season Speculation, Trade Ideas & Discussion Pt. 2
With Okafor , what I want the Suns to do is use Josh Jackson as the Westbrook/Lebron role... basically the big men boxes out for him... he grabs the rebound and takes the ball down... Booker is then free to run back to draw defenders. When the half court is then set, Booker is given the ball handling duties like Harden. I really like the Jackson/Booker combo, both can dribble and pass.... add an inside scorer and this allows another area to score from which helps the slashers and shooters.
