I think it's mostly due to Booker and James going off early and him getting in foul trouble and yanked, so he didn't want to pick up more fouls for awhile and then he mentioned he asked coach to let him foul out so he wouldn't play tentatively.

Yeah that's what I mean, most players can't just turn it on or doesn't go all out because of foul trouble. It's rare to see a player go from ice cold and in foul trouble to ending up with 20/11 in the second half

Ok. Aussie Suns fan here. Have only posted here a little in the past, but time to get more involved.

What a great win today. Only saw highlights. Great for morale.

Loved Len's bucket on the qtr time buzzer. Not sure he's had that nous and footwork previously.

Go Suns!

Booker only scored 7 points with off the dribble jumpers in half court sets.

Much better use of off-ball screens and passing out of traffic to get cleaner looks.

Still one of my favourite players during his time here. Even when fans were trashing him for his nachos, boneheaded plays and off-court troubles, his value on the court, hard work and attitude is undeniable. Love the guy and I hope he sees more success with Houston than he did with Toronto.

It's really good to see PJ got paid after working his way back into the NBA. It hard not to root for him and others like Mike James over a bunch of entitled 18 year old players with "potential".

Last year they had Bledsoe and Watson.

"We called a timeout and we came together," Booker said. "Our problem last year, when teams used to go on a run, it used to be a domino effect. We used to get down on each other, start arguing."

Just finished watching the game, here's my thoughts.

I'm not sure what is up with Chriss. He tries too much offensively, I think he needs to simplify his game. There was one play where he was open for a mid range jumper and he tried to drive it in and lost the ball or something. There was two different times where the Nets missed 3's and it went right towards Chriss and he didn't even bother going for the ball. Those kind of plays piss me off. Then that other play where he just gave up the ball and didn't get back on defense. Look, I know the guy is going to score, but you **** up here, at least make an effort.
Jackson also put up a lot of questionable shots. I thought his defense was supposed to be good, but there was a play Dimwiddle got right to the basket. A work in progress I assume.
TJ Warren reminded me of his mentor David West in the 4th quarter grabbing some of those offensive boards. Devin Booker played amazing ball, I think he could have scored 40 points but since we got a back to back I assume JT wanted to cut his minutes.
Dragan Bender is playing better and better. I think he's a system player, and is more effective when he knows that system. Watson had some crap thrown onto his clipboard while JT has some schemes to run. Bender seems to be gaining more confidence playing and it's something I haven't really seen since his first SL. I want to see Bender start at some point, but at the same time, he brings so much to our team off the bench.

Glad we got the win.

Completely goes against what Watson was preaching about unity, love, togetherness. Or maybe Watson enjoyed them fighting and the players didn't realize it was actually his coaching that brought the team down.

Some defensive schemes would tell Jackson to cover the roll or pop man while the driving guard is blocked by the C. This is less foul-prone than to expect the person defending the guard to stay with him all the way to the rim, when you have a standing Center ready to just raise his arms or get charged into.

Don't know if that is Triano's option, though. Same for rebounding with Chris, where he may be asked to box out while shorter and better playmakers grab the rebound and start the fastbreak.

idk how Chriss is even getting playing time let alone starting. His defense and rebounding is just gross.

He's been showing some heavy feet of late. Clearly has further to go than Bender. But the potential is also very clearly there. I would be interested in bringing him in if I were another team. And as a Suns fan, it's hard to see anything worth accepting in a trade for him, given that we're not really lacking for young talent at any position (especially when you consider the draft picks that will be coming our way).

TJ Warren falls more than any player I've seen since Wade.

This was a great win for a young team. We gave up the lead but they didn't falter and cave in like last year, they came back and took the W on the road. I'm still waiting for the "new coach effect" to wear off but as each game goes on... Let's just say it's nice to have a team that looks like it wants to compete EVERY possession.

And that defense, holy ****.
