The East is wide open.

Wade and Rose are old and can't really play at a high level defensively any longer. At this rate, Lebron's going to eventually miss games due to injury.

TGW and Kanyewest: Demarcus Cousins followed up his 41 point, 23 rebound, 5 assist game with a triple double and a New Orleans win over Cleveland.

29 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists

This playing alongside Anthony Davis who had 33/14 and 5 blocks.

All you guys who said COUSINS IS A HEADCASE ... GUESS WHAT: RIGHT NOW he's playing BETTER THAN JOHN WALL.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Yes, he is. I'm really impressed that New Orleans has managed to play a twin towers lineup while keeping both guys at a USG% above 30 and with both maintaining an ORtg above 115. It'll be interesting to see if that holds up once the scouting report comes out on them. I can't think of an example during the modern 3-point bombing era of two big men playing in tandem like that. Of course, those aren't two ordinary bigs since both can shoot 3's.

Rooting for NOP and any small market team, those cities deserve some success.

Hey, I'm not anti-Cousins. I'm just pro Wall/Cousins debates. :D

PS Also send some of that good mojo to Kirk Cousins.

Can't criticise DMC this season - even with the very high turnovers. I don't root for him, cuz he's done things I don't respect, but he can play.

Barring injury, DMC is heading for a HOF career.

Yes. HOF entry is predicated almost exclusively on total points and total rebounds. Cousins has always been very good in those two categories, even though his efficiency has typically been less than stellar. Volume points and rebounds, plus high minutes played and minimal games missed due to injury is a recipe for certain HOF status.

By age 26 after 7 seasons, he had already totaled 10,300 points and 5,200 rebounds. 20,000 points is a virtual guarantee to the HOF. He scored 1800 points last year. If he keeps that pace for 5 more years, he'll be at 19,000 points at age 31. Getting to 20,000+ will be trivial after that. He'll probably get over 24000.

Good points. Otoh, I think he's gotta have at least a few winning seasons. Are there any HOFers who's teams have as bad winning percentages? Granted, I think points and rebounds trump winning, but there might be a line that he's currently behind - which he's got plenty of time to get on the other side.

Yes, winning is a factor, though not that big of one.

Jamison and Chambers each barely eclipsed 20,000 (20,042 and 20,049 respectively) without making the HOF, because they never won anything. Every other player with 20,000+ points is in the Hall or is certain to be admitted once they're eligible.

But I think if you crush the 20,000 barrier, and get up around 23000 or more, there's no way you're not getting in. Walt Bellamy is in the HOF. Carmelo Anthony will be in the HOF.

And I'm sure, sooner or later, Cousins will make the playoffs and probably get to the 2nd round at least.

Well they didnt call him out— speak softly but carry a big stick... or just shut up and let your game talk for you.

Cavs are in trouble.. Wade is calling out the starters big time...the quotes are cringe worthy! Thank you Cavs...please implode now.

Boston has won 9 in a row without Hayward. Brad Stevens is a genius who knows how to leverage his players' strengths.

The Celtics have far and away the best defense in the league. Oh yeah, they're also the youngest team in the league.

Cousins goes 8-24, including 2-10 from three in a loss (he must be used to that by now). Guy thinks he's Reggie Miller out there or something.

When DeMarcus Cousins actually makes the playoffs for the first time in his career, let's talk.

I can't imagine this continuing. Stevens is every bit a genius though. I don't know if Pop could do any better with this roster. I swore up and down to everyone I know that they were too young and not ready for contention. I assume some of these guys are going to hit the wall eventually.

And this is after trading 2 outstanding defenders and trading for an offense only supastar. Amazing.
