Bojan and Bogdan

There's also a Malcolm Brogdon

And who is the better one ?

Bojan is better shooter and post player, Bogdan is superior in ball handling and court vision... different players...

Ok, can we talk again about PG position. Is there anyone who still thinks that Collison deserve to be our PG next season... or we need to find better player in free agency... I'm on I.Thomas... we have to go all in for him....

Is Bogdanović a fairly-common surname in the Balkans?

With Oladipo running the show, I don't think Joseph would be a bad option as point guard to be honest.

I like 3 and D point guards because wings are better options to handle the ball when it really matters, because they have enough size to not get blocked by everyone else on the court.

It's good to see a Pacers squad that can go out there and just take care of a team that should be easy to take care of.

I hear ya on Collison. I would be very weary of I. Thomas hip situation. I am obviously not privy to what team docs and FO would know. But a tiny guy that doesn't defend and has a bad hip.... Lots of question marks to pay someone LOTS of money.

I assume it's a patronyme meaning originally Bogdan was someone's first name and his son became a Bogdanovic. is that correct?

family names created this way are common in many languages. ovic, ovich, (feminine ova), ski. Mac__, O'__, ben __

Yeah, probably surname is created from name Bogdan... usually father's name was Bogdan, and that's how all family was named...

I was reading last weak about surnames in Croatia in 13th century... there was an article... and one surname was something like Old women ****... literally...

Well, I would take a risk... we will have some extra money to spend... and there isn't better option on PG beside IT...

I'm not on Thomas. Victor is lightning quick and has huge hops but he's not a tall 2 so a short ball dominate player like Thomas wouldn't be my first choice.

Collison is older than our core and Joseph and Lance (and Victor) are more combo guards than point guards. Joe Young is obviously not the future although he's gotten minutes lately and has shown some maturity; perhaps he has a role when opponents go very small. All I know about Sumner is a draft profile, but I have hopes. if the draft doesn't give us a 3, the next need is a 1 and I understand there is at least one good one that has drifted down the boards a bit because of number of good big men coming out.

bottom line, I don't think we need to trade for a point guard or sign one as a free agent, but we will want to draft one to learn behind Collison if we haven't already done that with Sumner.

Hope he will prove me wrong but knowing how inconsistent he can be, tonight it should be his trash day.

Watched all of Domas games for the Zags his last year. He was 100% mister consistency. He used to have "bad" games (very seldom) then the refs with foul calls would take him out.

So, my dear friend, no worries here (just the refs ;)).

Collison most likely will not be our starting PG next season. We are not going to get quality players in FA, we would have to make some kind of trade, however, as Wizop has stated, our best bet is to draft a PG to learn from Collison...If Sumter isn't that guy already.

Our real need is a starting SF. We need to figure out how to man that spot as soon as possible without giving up our core players.

I like how the team played. All more the reason Sabonis should start next to Turner. Can't wait to see GR3 with this team. We could be an elite defensive team. I would call Denver on Mudiay. Let him play behind Collison. What is wrong with George Hill? I'm guessing he regrets signing with the Kings. He looks like he is just going through the motions.

The Orlando Magic have declined their fourth year option on Mario Hezonja. We should give Joe Young and 2nd pick for him. He needs playing time, he can be good SF player. He can score and play defense.

I read that they shopped him before declining the option so we had a chance to trade for him and passed. is there any reason to think he has more potential than Poythress?

I agree with everything you said except that we need to do something ASAP. SF is a spot without the future starter in place unless it's GRob but we're not going to be a 60 win team this year even with a better SF so there is no rush.

Honestly...I haven't watched Poythress... I would be happy if he became a NBA player... on the other side I know Hezonja since he was in high school and I belive he can be a very good 3D player, he needs minutes on court, and he is cheap right now... we can get him for nothing...

Next year we could be 50+ win team if we improve PG and SF position... we will be ready to fight for east conference...

Poythress is on a two way so he'll only be in Indy for 45 days unless he proves so good we sign him to the NBA minimum. We do have a roster spot so I don't suppose there is much risk on going after Herzonja if we can get him for nothing. we could try offering the rights to Betts. that's nothing we care about and a legal trade in the checker. we also could make the same offer for Affalo after 12/15. I don't think either of them are in their rotation now.
