Portland just scored a total of 6 pts in a quarter at home against Toronto.

Its somewhat embarrassing to say we've lost twice to them lol.

Regardless of what Len does it shouldn't impact next year's draft. He will be an unrestricted free agent and can sign where he wants. I don't imagine the market will be very good for him regardless since there are several other free agent centers and few teams with cap space, but even if we wanted to sign him, it's far from a certainty he would sign with us, particularly since we wouldn't give him a new contract. I don't think anyone who has played on the qualifying offer has signed again with that team.

I always thought we should give him a small deal for 2-3 years with maybe a team option but we decided not to (or maybe we did offer it and he declined thinking he could get more elsewhere next offseason).

But don't you think that if we started him, gave him good minutes with our 'good' players, and communicate to him that he's in our plans for the future if he wants to be, that he may consider signing here? I guess I think now is the prime opportunity to 'change' our game strategy with him, with a new HC. It may lead him to believe (and rightfully so) that the issues have been primarily HC driven, not FO driven. I just think it's worth a shot, is all...

But I agree with what you are saying; it's unlikely he signs here due to the fact that he's a 'UFA'. If McD and Triano/new HC are good with that, then so be it, but I think they are losing a grand opportunity here.

I think if they really want him they can probably sign him due to likely a limited market. Though if they really wanted him they may have already signed him. Plus they have two draft picks and might feel it's not worth wasting more cap space since they have Alan Williams and may want to go small as well...and may still have another year of Tyson.

We also may end up with the 3rd or 4th pick and Ayton or to get Bamba 5 or a couple spots lower and then think it doesn't make sense to re-sign him.

You must have really high expectations of this team if you expect us to beat a playoff team from last year with an added Nurkic with a near all star guard and one of the best pure SGs in the league.

I mean we will randomly beat some pretty good teams but I wouldn't expect it.

Well, here's another small sample size for you. We're 3-1 over our last 4 games, so...who knows?!?!?

Yes, nice to see some wins even if against the Nets, Kings and Jazz on b2b.
