You guys say that but Bledsoe still hasn't publicly said he wants to be traded. He may stick to the hair salon thing and perhaps apologizes to the team and fans for the confusion basically stating he had a change of heart.
Sarver did mention he wanted us to he competitive at the very least this season so maybe he accepts the apology and makes a play for Boogie. I know it's unlikely but business side he may be thinking Boogie will bring more fans. Just a thought.

I wonder if he's a player who can take us to the next level.

I don't see Cousins coming here after we let Bledsoe go. I think that ship has now sailed.

Agreed. It is even a further stretch given how we have treated Bled. Not a good look.

How have we treated him? Dude said he didn't want to be here. Be a little pansy and stay home! That is the right thing to do.

He is collecting his $177k a game, and he will also be traded. He is an average player acting like a superstar!

No offense, Wilber but your perception of the situation is not the same as NBA players. This situation should have been handled in the off season.

The Phoenix Suns signed guard Mike James to a two-way contract at the beginning of July. James has played well enough so far this season that management has already decided to convert his deal to an NBA contract.

"It won't be a decision of whether we want to keep him or not," Suns general manager Ryan McDonough told 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station. "The decision will be whether we can agree on a contract that is acceptable to us and to Mike and his agent. I think we’ll get there."

So GENTELMEN, what do we pay Michael (Jeffrey Jordan/ aka Johnny killroy) James on a contract per year? 5to 6 mil? Higher or lower?

but I think Suns need to consolidate some assets to get a HUGE impact player that can expedite the timeline to next season and onwards.

Plus we add our pick. They get out of cap hell, get a balanced team with a good pick, and team up the Kentucky teammates - ofcourse they would need a resigned Boogie for this. We get AD, round out our team with the rest of our picks. Win.

(I feel kinda dirty proposing this after last night... but business is business and AD is AD)

It will probably be something like this that gets us to the next level. TJs development gives us options. His PER is over 20 now and going up. Either TJ or JJ becomes movable. And with that you have teams sitting up and taking note.

I think we might, but I don't think we will have the cap space unless pieces are moved unless we trade Bledsoe for expiring like Monroe.

I think it's Lowe who said a lot of front offices say they wouldn't touch him. Like the majority it sounds. We could be one of those teams.

Not a lot of teams have cap space. I think depending on what George and LeBron do, the Lakers may be the main ones to pursue him considering Brook Lopez expires.

I think there is a good chance he re-signs in New Orleans regardless of how they do. He didn't seem to mind staying in Sacramento all those years and he was mad he got traded because he couldn't get the super max. I believe New Orleans can still give him the biggest contract so I think he stays there if he is with them to end the year with maybe the Lakers looming as the other possibility.

Yeah, my original-original idea was to get Boogie next summer after we are better this year, but still have a high draft pick. With the Bled-show that's down the drain. I know it's 99% that Pels don't trade AD - but if Boogie resigns there and they can add 2 very good young(ish) players on great contracts, with one of them being a good friend of Cuz, a rookie contract guy with lots of potential and a top 10 draft pick, and maybe a second rounder or 2, they might not hang up the phone the first minute, and start scratching their heads. Especially if they are out of the playoff picture around trade deadline.
I'd think that Bled/Holiday/TJ/Chriss/Boogie is a lot better team than what they have now. Add two good rookies to that non-existant bench, and this team is on par with Denver/Minnesota/Clippers instead of Lakers/Kings and us.

They won't be giving up a chance a getting a major difference maker, and we'll be betting on the Nets having better than a bottom 5 record. And if it doesn't convey this year then it we get their first this year and in 2021. By 2021 Lebron will be long gone and I can't imagine they'd be a top seed, so that could be very valuable. Both teams take a gamble but Cleveland feels safer.

Suns in: Nets pick (protected top 5 or else 2 cleveland firsts), Shumpert, Frye
Cavs in: Bledsoe

Nah. The point of trading for that pick is to get a shot at the top 5. I would rather just negotiate a swap.

That's why it's extremely unlikely they will trade it. Not only is that one of the most prized trade assets (other than established superstars and unprotected Bulls, Hawks, Mavs and Kings picks) in the league, there has been zero talk or mention that the Cavs have any interest whatsover. IT is a much better fit for them anyway. If he can't come back healthy that could change things but they already have their better player who will likely come within a couple a months.

One Cav poster said that Gilbert is not likely to trade for Bledsoe because he is a Klutch client and asking for an extension. It just gives Bled to much leverage with all the other Klutch clients on the roster. He learned his lesson from Tristan Thompson.

I wonder if Rich Paul has over played his hand.

Good point. I also wonder if other GMs are privately loving how McD is playing hardball with Paul by sitting Bledsoe and expressing no urgency to appease him.

I said on the Mike James thread that a contract around $9M/3 years can be fair for both sides IMO. I would be OK with $10M/3 years too, but not much more than that.

10 mill tops for 2 or 3 years. Preferably lower. Not to be the party pooper, but I don't want to end up with all the stray MJs/DJJs/Sauces/Ulises of the world clogging up our roster and our cap flexibility.

It would be easier to get Drummond or Myles Turner, Porzingis or even Gobert (assuming we are aiming at a C) for a package of picks/players than to move up in the draft, as few teams are willing to swap a potential superstar for 2 maybe all stars, or something like that.
Some teams might have a disgruntled star or may be shifting towards a rebuild, in which case a package of good picks for your best player makes much more sense.

Maybe Drummond but the others are probably at least as untradeable for those teams as Booker is. They have certainly all showed far more on court value.
I'm not even certain we would target a C as the "last piece".

My whole point is that, whoever it is, at whatever position it is, most likely will come from a swap between disgruntled player/meltdown situation for multiple picks to a rebuilding team, not from a draft pick.

Monroe is out two weeks - wish it were longer

But Monroe, Teletovic, Brogdon , Delevedoa for Bledsoe, Chandler, Derrick Jones Jr and the Heat Pick...

Suns are taking on long term salary in Delevedova but get Brogdan. Suns probably do not need the Heat pick - they are pretty young

Just trying to figure out how to take a long term contract and I don't like Hensons

Mark Stein:

hmm... what about Bledsoe and Troy Daniels for Kennard and Reggie Jackson

Jackson is signed for three more years - so would be typing up cap space one more year than Bledsoe. But they know what the cost is too. Kennard would be a nice back up shooter to Booker

granted, Jackson would be on another team, his third. have read he might be a headache

this is probably not the deal. but maybe talking to Detroit gets Cleveland and Milwaukee talking. I have a feeling a deal gets done by the week end
