Orlando is 48-54 vs. Chicago (27-23 at home, 21-31 on the road) during regular season action, including 1-3 last season. Orlando is 4-6 vs. the Bulls during the playoffs (1995 Conference Semis, 1996 Conference Finals). The Magic
have split the last ten regular season meetings with the Bulls. The Magic have won four of the last five matchups at home, but lost eight of the last 12 outings at Chicago. D.J. Augustin appeared in 61 games with the Bulls during the 2013-14 season. Magic Senior VP Pat Williams served as Bulls GM from 1969-73. Assistant GM Matt Lloyd spent 13 seasons with the Bulls in various capacities.

BEST ALL-TIME SCORING PERFORMANCE VS. BULLS: 52 pts., Tracy McGrady (@ Orlando, 2-21-03)

Josh Robbins ✔@JoshuaBRobbins
The Magic are listing Elfrid Payton as questionable and D.J. Augustin as out for tomorrow's game against the Bulls.

Chicago: Zach LaVine (left ACL), Nikola Mirotić (concussion and maxillary fractures), Cameron Payne (right foot) and Bobby Portis (team suspension) are OUT.

After Mack tallied nine points and eight assists in Memphis, Vogel described Mack as a “steady hand.” “He knows how to play the game,” Vogel added. “He knows how to be effective on both ends of the court. It’s the next-man-up mentality. We lost D.J., who’s been our starting point guard, and Shelvin stepped up and did a great job.”

``I think it’s enough (with him and Simmons at point guard),’’ said Mack, who made three of four shots and hit a 3-pointer on Wednesday. ``We were able to get it done (on Wednesday), and with the way we play, a lot of people bring the ball up in different situations. We have a lot of unselfish guys. We’re basketball players and we can figure it out.’’

``On the offensive end, we’re still having too many one-pass possessions, no-pass possessions, still too many forces at the rim, still not crashing enough and not taking care of the basketball enough,’’ said Vogel while pushing his team to want more. ``I think there is still a lot of room for improvement on that (offensive) end. No, we’re not going to shoot that well every night and we’re going to play tough defensive groups and there will be games where we’re undermanned because of injury, but there are still things that we can improve upon.

``That’s what I’m challenging our guys with – not can we sustain it, but can we keep improving with every game that we’re playing,’’ the coach added.

The Magic are 6-0 when their opponents shoot under 50% FG.

The Bulls are 0-3 when their opponents score 100+ points.

Since 1995-96, only teams to score as many points as @OrlandoMagic through 8 games (919) are 15-16 Warriors (919) & 17-18 Warriors (968).

Josh Robbins ✔@JoshuaBRobbins
If the Magic win Friday, the Magic would have a 7-2 record. That would be Orlando's best record thru nine games since the 2007-08 season.

Evan Fournier has connected on at least one three-pointer in 33 consecutive games, the third-longest active streak in the NBA. The longest streak in Magic history is 78 games, held by Dennis Scott from Apr. 19, 1995-Apr. 7, 1996.

As of Nov. 2, Aaron Gordon ranks fourth in the NBA in three-point FG percentage, 12th in FG percentage,

Nikola Vucevic is ranked 3rd in the league in screen assists (36).

Shelvin Mack ranks sixth in the NBA in assists-to-turnover ratio.

Fournier ranks second in the NBA in FT percentage, fifth in three-point FG percentage, 18th in FG percentage, 20th
in scoring

Speights is tied for 12th in three-point FG percentage.

So Gordon & Fournier each miss over 40%+ on 3 point attempts, all that offseason work and still missing shots.

Man you have been killing it on these game threads OrlandO! Keep up the great work!

I really hope the team does not look past this team in anticipation for Sunday against Boston. Need to respect the Bulls despite them being 1-5. The great teams take care of the teams that they are supposed to beat and I want the Magic to strive for greatness. Need to limit Markkanen and not allow this Bulls team to play with any sort of confidence.

Continue to rebound, push the pace, share the basketball and take care of the basketball. Beat the snot out of this sorry ass team please! Hopefully we get Elf back for this game.

This, it's a trap game if there was ever one. I know guys like AG have come out saying some confident things, don't overlook any NBA team on any given night.

Hope to see a good game!

I hope Elfrid plays but I also hope we not rushing him back because we have no more PG's.

Also OrlandO, your game threads have been fantastic

This is my worry. The Magic is playing with rest. Is mostly healthy and is playing an awful Bulls. What a trap game!

Lauri and Lopez are the only players we have to stop in this game.

I'm sure some have or will state it but this is a classic "trap game". This is a game the magic would have lost in years past. Coming off a high of beating Memphis on there court coming back home for a 3 game home trip against a team they are clearly better on paper and on court production. They need to come out and play aggressive ball. No if, and or buts. You are better then this team just come out and beat them. We can't let one of there scrubs get hot and have a career game on us ( im looking at you zipser). If we play like we have been playing so far this season we should win this game. Go magic

The line is 8.5. That sounds about correct. I would take Orlando even with the points, as this could be a 120-80 result, if the game is properly played.

We need to respect Chicago and not have a let down tonight. We need to win as many winnable games as possible to build a cushion for the west coast road trip or for any slower periods for playoff positioning. Be humble but be greedy Magic.

Lol, perfect jab. But only after he sees the boxscore because he seemingly doesn't watch games...

I was at that game. I remember the Orena exploding when Francis made that game winner. And was fun to see Dwight's first game and know that we had made the right pick. Unfortunately it didn't work out well for that team after such a dramatic win.

On the subject of the game, as our old pal Goose Givens used to say this is a team you should beat and the Magic must simply "Take care of business" I hope Elf can go I'm wanting to see how he meshes in and be nice to get some time before Boston.

Thats so dumb. Probably a mad Bulls Fan.

They seem to think Lauri will have an easy night against Gordon. I hope AG puts his ass on a poster.
