Sounds like Fultz is going on the five game WC trip to be with the team and work with trainers. I'm going to guess he doesn't play in any of those but will return when we get home (if he fixed his form).

I like this. Keep him engaged and with the team and get his head I mean shoulder right.

Simmons has been playing well off ball too when McConnell is handling the point. Hope to see that continue. Fultz can play off ball but limiting him exclusively to that situation isn't good. Brett Brown did a better job incorporating him in his last two games.

Everybody thought that about 2014, too. And odds are still against Boston getting that Laker pick.

What does that matter? It just rolls over to the Kings, who are worst than the Lakers. Either way, it wouldn't matter if they only gave up a 2nd round pick to move up. It was a dumb move. There are more than 5 guys in this class that will be as good or better than Fultz.

Simmons made an interesting comment after the Atlanta game. That was that in the first half he was "letting the game to come to him"... but it wasn't so he decided to be a bit more aggressive in the 2nd half.
It was a criticism of his time at LSU where he predominantly played the 4... that there would be large parts of the game where he would be quiet and not involved sometimes for an entire game (some people assumed this was laziness when it really wasn't). I think it was Simmons wanting others to be involved. Quite often the coach would get up on to be more greedy and aggressive and look to score more.
I think that has happened a little bit this year when Simmons has not had the ball in his hand running the show. He needs to learn how to make cuts and move without the ball when playing the 4. He has shown improvement already in the last few games and I think that's where a lot of his improvement will come from in the future.
I actually think Markelle Fultz being injured has also been somewhat a blessing in disguise for Ben. If we had a healthy Markelle out there, they would probably have been splitting the point guard duties more and Simmons would be seeing a lot less of the ball. It's allowed him and the team to find an identity. I don't necessarily think that would have happened in Markelle was in there and the 2 rooks were trying to sort it out.

It's going to be hilarious when the Sixers win a NBA title in a few years while Colangelo did nothing positive to get them there. He is going to fail into success. It is a crime that Sam isn't running this team. Especially when you realize we didn't lose just Sam. We lost Ben Falk, Sachin Gupta and co.

The Kings have just about two years to figure out what’s going on, which is an eternity in the NBA. It’s all about playing the odds, that’s why it matters.

I know you might be trolling/really don't like Fultz for whatever reason, but I wanna try and understand where you're coming from. Which player(s) draft in the top 10 (besides maybe Tatum) is really standing out to you right now?
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker

Is that a new player? Markennen?
It's a very nice rookie class it seems (I even like what I've seen from that Ntikilina kid)
Ball is the one that has been drafted too high imo.

Stealing Lloyd's thunder: us draft junkies were all pretty clear that DSJ, Isaac, Jackson, Ball, Mitchell, et al each had a good chance of being better than all the guys drafted before them. It's not about what numbers they've put up so far, it's about their tools ad long term success in the league. Fultz has some big question marks about speed of his game--it was too slow in college and speeding up is tough--and explosiveness, and the fact that he was already taking a lot of difficult shots in the NCAA. I happened to like his skills and size enough to put him towards the top of my board, and his fit with us put him up to #1--but he was always a shaky #1 and I thought we got played pretty hard by the Celtics.
(Think of it like this: if Fultz has a 40% chance of becoming really really good, while guys like Tatum and DSJ had like a 35% chance--why give up another probably equivalent pick to move up that 5%?)

He looks good! However, he was never going to be a sixer. We could not afford to take another big man or even "big" forward.
Has any other guard selected top 10 looked like a difference maker? Who is it exactly that people wish were on this team instead of Fultz? I'm just trying to see who that player is...

Fox would be great in transition w/ Simmons
Frank would help immensely with his stellar defense and passing
DSJ would be the worst fit but he’s so athletic that if he gets his shot right he will be a star.

So are you suggesting that instead of staying in top 3, we should have traded down to 5ish to select a stretch-four (i.e. Isaac) or all the way down to 10 to select DSJ (
Also, there seems to be some revisions going on here...first, it was Ball who had a better chance of being good than Fultz. Now, you dropped his name from your list of prospects you originally said would be as good or better than Fultz, and now it's just Tatum and DSJ. I'm sure once we see a few more games of DSJ his name will be off that list you "junkies" compiled.
And for the record, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE was saying Tatum was going to be better than Fultz. Even now, the jury is still out on who the better player will be since the Fultz we saw at Wash hasn't played a single game yet.

All of Ball, Jackson, DSj, Isaac, Tatum, Fox and Mitchell are better. Markelle Fultz is one of the 5-6 weakest #1 picks of the last 25 years. And the fact that we traded up to get him makes it one of the worst draft transactions I've seen in a long time. The only player selected in this year's lottery that I wouldn't consider trading Fultz straight-up for is Luke Kennard.

So each player has 1-2 unique qualities, and that makes them better for the sixers than Fultz?
Edit: This is like the ppl saying Ingram > Simmons for us because Ingram had a better jumpshot. Does that matter if he's an inferior player?

Me. I was saying Tatum would be better than Fultz. I said that since December of last year and haven't changed my position since.

So far we know Fultz has a broken shot (we don’t know if it will be fixed)
Fultz with no jumper is worse than all of those players. He was a better “fit”only because of his shot which is broken until proven fixed in my view
