Devastating. He might not be able to return until after the season starts next year. This could **** them for two consecutive seasons.

Brutal. Feel so bad for him - was such an amazing start. And rough luck for the Texans, too.

Garcon to the IR as well.

Brutal week for owners of Zeke, Watson and Garcon.

Between injuries and all of the controversies, the league is headed for a decline.

Yeah it's been a bad year for the league. Ratings at some point were going to plateau/decline. They can't keep going up forever. But it's certainly been exacerbated.

Think about Texans and Packers games which could have had prime TV slots, but now with Rodgers and Watson out, those games are only of interest for their local fans. If Zeke ends up serving that six game suspension and Dallas goes out of playoff contention, that's another team the league was hoping to be good and draw ratings in prime TV slots.

Yeah, its tough to grow ratings when you lose very marketable stars like Rodgers, Watt and Beckham, and then lose the new stars like Watson and Cook. Not a good recipe when combined with the already present issues.

I thought the Packers might get flexed out of the Sunday night game against Pitt but I don't see a really good game to move into that slot. The Saturday night game on 12/23 can't get moved since it would involve switching days (to Sunday).

Agreed! Pretty sure the team that wins the Superbowl is just a "good" team that suffers minimal injuries.

Right now that seems like Philly and KC, both of whom fit that description.

Yeah, feels inevitable that some mediocre/fringe contender is gonna end up winning it all this year simply because they have enough healthy bodies. Injuries have been brutal.

If he holds this out a few more weeks and still serves his suspension, does that roll over into the postseason?

It would be hilarious to see him do all of this only to miss out on the most important games of the year.
