Game 9: Miami Heat @ Denver Nuggets 7pmMT

Miami is a mixed-team, as far as projections go. They're 3-4 right now but it seems to me, from the two games I saw, that they are playing fairly decent ball right now. I don't think Denver better take them for granted. Whiteside can give Jokic fits but Jokic's BB-IQ can probably deal with that and Jokic's tendency to wander, helping others, on defense won't hurt to bad against Whiteside (but he does like lobs). Olynyk & Johnson are a couple of tough PFs that can shot fairly well; but I doubt they scare either Millsap or Faried. SF seems a wash and not so important to either team. Their guards are nice, but again, the Nuggets should match-up fairly well overall.

Miami had one day off after a home game and this is game one of a six game road trip. I predict a good game and since it's in Denver, I'll predict a win but I certainly don't expect a total blow-out. My only fear is that Miami stays close and wins late because Denver is terrible at closing out games (and quarters).

Whiteside has always can help with some defense there.given DEN fits in the past, hopefully Milsap. I'll take DEN as well, hopefully we'll see bit of chemistry and confidence building for the upcoming GSW game.

Yeah, they're a little different - not in the bad way a couple of fan bases are, but I think I'll stay out of that thread. :nod:

I've always followed James Johnson's career since he's from Cheyenne and I know his father (well enough that his father greets me by name - not saying we're best friends, but we chat). Anyway, in High School, it wouldn't surprise you that he was the best shooter, 3 pt shooter, ball handler, rebounder, defender, whatever else on the team. There were a couple other pretty good players, but he was the best IMO. I've been disappointed by his pro-career, but since going to Miami, he looks to be more like what I remember. So I always enjoy watching Miami now. 8-)

Tonight's game will be telling IMO. If we can still continue building on the TOR game it's a sign of a good season.....however if we fall back into the NYK game mode we're going on another grind for a playoff spot.......

-7 at halftime, but in last 3 matches we beat opponents in 3rd quarters with amazing aggregate 121-65 score (and only in opening match vs Utah we lose 3rd quarter so far in 2017-18), so lets see will this great new "tradition" is continue tonight.

Most positive impression is Millsap who 2nd game in the row finally playing like we expected when we sign him.

OK, at least we won close match, so I don't want to comment and complain how we in last 4 minutes go from +8 to do lucky win, so my most negative impression of the night coming from Utah Donovan Mitchell who 2nd time in the row scored 25+ pts. Iust when we start to think that Mitchell for Lyles and Lydon deal maybe is not that tragic like it seems month ago. Unfortunately yes, it is that bad and tragic deal.

Heard an interesting stat about the Nuggets, Prior to the game they were 11th in offense and 14th (FOURTEENTH !!!) in defense, I can't remember when the last time we were that high in both catagories

I believe we were 21st in defense before the game.

I member, it was the season before Karl was fired, and it was higher in both.

This team is not going to win games doing this is Crap every game, it is weird to me that the young guys all play well together around Jokic and the vets all play better in the drive kick/iso game, yet we destroy teams when it is the Jokic offense if only for a quarter a game and struggle in games where we try the drive and kick.

Jokic is an elite rebounder, he could be a scorer too but for some reason team refuse to use him enough.
