Any neuro docs out there? Do some people have an out of league susceptibility to debilitating effects from head trauma? I can't even recall what head whacking precipitated TJ's long absence last year, and tonight's thumping didn't appear that especially bad, but easy for me to say.

IDK, but something seems out of the ordinary with TJ's noggin. Hope he's fine and I'm just hyper (stupid) reacting

I work in a lab that studies Traumatic Brain Injuries (essentially concussions) and other neurological diseases-- it's not my expertise though. I can say that there is overwhelming evidence that each mild TBI makes you drastically more susceptible to future concussions, and it also has an effect on the severity of the injury. It's why players often retire after a certain number of head injuries-- at a certain point it becomes a life-threatening condition.

That's also (likely) the reason that the injury last year was so mysterious. The brain is soooo difficult to deal with and I'd bet TJ had a history of concussions in high school that causes him (and neurologists) to want to be patient with recovery. If he comes back too soon, the severity of the next one is often increased. This was all I could think about as he was writhing--bumps to the head surely will affect him more than most.

This wasn't a terrible game. Losing TJ was huge and his scoring could've really helped when we got within single digits in the second half. The PG play weren't as good as we've seen but honestly, I think some of ya'll over-exaggerating saying they are playing like Brandon Knight to 'stealing' shots from Booker. When you're down your 2nd best scorer, you're gonna need to find scoring from someone else. Bender and Jackson were set up well by our PG's but they weren't hitting shots. You have Len in the middle missing easy shots and our PG's doing what the can to get our guys better shots and they just weren't falling. Booker was already doing his thing with a super efficient 35pts with 19FGA's. The refs made some questionable calls but we also got to the line 37 times vs 25 for the Knicks...so it wasn't really stacked in their favor.

Yeah we lost. But we still played better than we did in the first 3 games combined and this is what development is. We may be losing TJ for who knows how long so now we need to figure out how to stay competitive and find those lost 20ppg. This was a good learning experience, especially for Bender who played good defense on KP who's playing at MVP levels right now. KP just made some ridiculously tough shots but that's why he's one of the best players in the league right now.

It doesn't feel good to lose but our players shouldn't feel defeated or down on themselves.

Everybody but Booker and Chandler played bad. I think the Suns might have a better chance with Dudley starting 2nd half. I was shocked when Jones Jr came in. Dudley must not be ready.

If Warren is out for some time, just count those games L’s. Booker needs help.

Remember when Booker would get his shot blocked on every drive? That’s what’s happening with Jackson too. Can’t wait to see him develop. That doesn’t happen too often with Booker anymore. Haven’t seen it this season actually.

“It has to be next man up but nobody on this team has the abilities T.J. does,” Booker said.

Jackson is fine.

The Suns PG should however NOT ignore him too much... they avoid giving him the ball.. because he usually makes good decisions with it.. either scores or assists...

Getting stuffed by Porzingis is not embarrassing at all.... the guy is 7'3 and explodes like Blake Griffin... hence its funny that Bender was compared to him... Bender is no way near as athletic.

Bender was +10 plus minus this season before this game.

Went -29 (Porzingis effect?).

Porzingis scored at will on Bender... but it was slightly harder than when on Chriss... who usually gave him an And 1 (I jest)

Good learning experience for these guys Bender and Chriss should have learned a lesson here against Zinger and that is their games should move inside out, not outside in. Both run to the 3 point line every time and that needs to change especially for Bender he has the size to shoot over the top of people the same way Zinger does and Chriss is so strong and athletic he can dominate down low he just needs to learn how to use his body you can tell he hit a growth spurt late in highschool and hasnt been playing as long as some of these guys he just doesnt know how to leverage his size and strength yet. I think it will come for both but Chriss just turned 20 and Bender is still 19 we need to keep that in mind these guys are still super young. As far the the PG play this game and the Wizards game they have been awful. All of a sudden James cant hit the broad side of a barn the same for Ulis and Ulis for whatever reason cant seem to run the offense at all he has been dribbling the air out of the ball it has not been moving well. The off the ball screens must get stronger to help free cutters which will help them and they must do a better job of using screens they have not attacked the screens hard enough allowing the D to recover to easily also no recognizing the weakside player being open, poor court awareness.
