Why peeple didnt want him... because he was from Soviet Union? He was monster player, before injuries he could play in any NBA team... he was better version of Porzingis...

He couldn't get out of soviet union. There is a documentary somewhere about how Marciulionis got out of soviet union risking his life to play in the nba.

My dad was a huge Sabnois fan, and so I heard about him a lot growing up. He was considered one of the best, but couldn't get the NBA during his true prime. He was still a damn good NBA player once he was able to come over. Underrated.

No, he was awesome, almost as good as his son

Domas starting to show some of his dad's passing skills, I knew he had it in him. 6 assists, I think he still can do better 8-)

I see a lot of genes being passed to Domas , only difference is inches really , thats why he cant block, Arvydas was like 7'3 and his wingspan was the same but those extra inches gave him explosive blocking abbility snd putback dunks. Anyways Domas is Sabas Jr

It was 1986 the height of the cold war and he was from the Soviet Union, not Lithuania, 99% of the people here in the USA never heard of Lithuania back then. At the time a lot of Americans said he was just a big commie from the Soviet Union. I had forgotten about the reaction and David Stern's face was funny as hell!

I don't think that's Wilkins as far as his stats say he never played for Portland.

I think you're right Brain Kenny wore the #7 for Portland in 1996 to 1998 before being traded off.

They wanted him. "Sabonis was selected by the Atlanta Hawks with the 77th pick of the 1985 NBA draft. However, the selection was voided because Sabonis was under 21 at the time of the draft."

He didn't play because of politics and then injuries

Really wonderful seeing him blossoming this much. Even now he is very good role player. I wonder if he continues this way if he won't be a contender for MIP award this season. It is amazing.
