There are still some pie in the sky elements going for Boston right now.

Is Jayson Tatum going to shoot a whopping 50% from three this year?
Is Jaylen Brown going to shoot 40% from three this year?
Is Kyrie Irving going to sustain 1st team, all-defense play?

Kyrie wanted out. That wasn’t on Kyrie. Kyrie made the right decision though.

28 other teams to trade him to. Didn't have to bail their conference finals opponent out of a really sticky situation.

Depends if you are going to ask a celtics fan.

Baller1234 should help you answer those.

The Sixers need a Donovan Mitchell on their team.

Got it. 8-)
With the looks Tatum is getting (wide open) it should be around 40-45% if there is a regression.
Same for brown except I expect more towards 37ish%
Kyrie has been very active on defense and I believe he can as he buys into Brad Stevens System but we will see.

Tatum and Browns percentage may seem high but the reason is because they are getting WIDE OPEN shots from 3s because of Kyrie and Horfords playmaking skills.

Will brown continue to shot 58% from FT?
Will Kyrie continue to shot only 35% from 3?
Will smart continue to shoot 68% from the FT line?
Bet with Stillwater Celtics will finish 6th or higher in ECF Standings Regular Season(17-18). [WON]

Well first, I wouldn't say mesmerized by him. I'm finding less fatal flaws from him in comparison to other top prospects.

Would I take him #3 without hesitation? Absolutely not. If Colangelo is deciding between Fultz, Ball, Monk, or Mitchell, would I suggest Mitchell? Yes.

I'm still on team Tatum till the end. I posted the players that I'm high on in the last page of this thread.

I don't know, I remember the Cavs surprising many by taking Dion Waiters at #4. It could have happened, but obviously didn't. I think there is a formula for some teams in this new NBA: STL%, 3PTr along with a high 3PT% are a few of them. Mitchell ripping steals at a high rate along with being a good 3pt shooter at a very high rate reflect well on him. Obviously those stats grab the attention, but watching the game matters too. He also measured a freakishly long wingspan and displayed impressive athleticism on and off the court.

To me, there were very few things that would have kept me from drafting him at #3: his FTr and FG% at the rim. Given that the league is moving towards a desire to have more 3FGA than FTA, these were pretty easy to overlook, but definitely gave pause.

His defense, though, is what makes him a top 3 pick. Him hounding opposing stars will be the story of his career.

If Fultz was here shooting as badly as Mitchell the same guys praising Mitchell here would be ripping Fultz. Frankly I'm tired of the grass is always greener crowd.

You want to rip the organization for not taking Porzingis fine but Fultz hasn't even played a real game yet. Pining for Mitchell and DSJ both of which aren't even playing that well wtf is wrong with people smh.

Its relative. Now mitchell is good. Later fultz likely to be much better.

That's not true. Fultz has looked terrible on jumpers and FTs and I've done nothing but praise him for his defense and ability to get to the rim while giving him many, many passes on his rookie mistakes.

Maybe you shouldn't make sweeping generalizations, "smh".

Negrodamus for GM! If I knew they were going to overpay for " fit" I'd have happily taken your option. He was a better "fit" anyway.

lloydfree wrote:I think Mitchell is a bit over-rated as a talent on the 76ers board because of the perceived fit with Ben Simmons. On our team he has a window to become a starter. On any other team he's a 6'2, 3-D, third or fourth guard... If the 76ers didn't have any PFs and/or Jahlil Okafor was the starting Center, then guys would over-rate Jordan Bell, because of perceived fit on the roster.

I still wouldn't have taken Mitchell #3, but given what actually happened, it was the much better option.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Emmanuel Mudiay has raised his true shooting to 52% but he's still not even trying defensively.

I wonder if spending a year under Larry Brown at SMU would have changed him as a prospect. China perpetuated the no-defense element of his game.

He would have no doubt drilled good habits into him. But Brown may have also messed up his draft status, by playing in his system and or sitting him behind older players. Mudiay has banked 12 million based on his decision. While a similar level prospect like Andrew Harrison, who is probably a better NBA player, is busy clawing and scratching for minimum contracts every year. Players should do what it takes to get better, but ultimately they want their financial security more.

Mitchell also seems like a very smart kid with great character. My dream was trading back to 5&10 and getting Mitchell and Isaac.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
