Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
Trey Lyles is interesting. He plays competent enough defense to where he's a consistent jumpshot away from being a legit rotation player/spot starter.
The extra team-controlled year after this one is a bonus, as well.

Saric and Okafor for Nader and Clippers pick?
OK4 for Nader
Saric for Clippers pick
Baynes Thies OK4
Horford Saric
Tatum Morris
Brown Rozier
Kyrie Smart
Nah. Not a fan. Okafor and Anderson for the Clippers pick? With CP3 gone, if Blake goes down, that's 2 second round picks for whoever gets caught holding the bag.
BOS pick for Saric?
Used a late lottery pick on him, waited two years, and haven't been disappointed. Like Rozier, for y'all, he'll be a nice part of our second unit. Pass.

Covington+Saric for Morris + Smart?
I have covington slightly more valuable than Morris
And Smart slightly more valuable than Saric
Bet with Stillwater Celtics will finish 6th or higher in ECF Standings Regular Season(17-18). [WON]

I think it's settled. That's a square deal. We want Trey Lyles!

No sir! If that Okafor and Anderson for the Clippers pick starts to sound a little better, give us a ring.

Can I know why it’s a no? Is it value problem or you just don’t like Smart and Morris?

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
I think the key to unlocking Trey Lyles' potential might be a defined role and minutes to establish himself. Something he hasn't had in his first three years. Something he might not have here while Dario is in place.

We can’t trade Covington at all is why it is a no for me. I love Smart, but I’m not trading Covington to get him. I would trade Saric for him, but I don’t suspect that you would.

Both. Never been a big fan of either. Plus, it does nothing for us but make us weaker. Marcus Morris is not a better long-term bet than Saric, and we already have Amir Johnson.
Then, we give away our best perimeter shooter and defender, the dude that makes it click when you have a nonshooter in Ben Simmons, the dude that creates space of JoJo to work inside---for Marcus Smart. All the while we have TJ McConnell playing out of his mind right now. And Markelle Fultz coming back soon. We can Colin Sexton in the draft. Not to mention Redick, Bayless, Timothe Luwawu, Furkan Korkmaz, Stauskas...
Just nothing attractive about it for us.

I agree with that. Except, I think he could take Justin Anderson's minutes right away. And although Dario would be ahead of him, Lyles would be asked to play the same style of game. It'd be nice to have that type of continuity between the first and second unit. Lyles and Holmes.
Dario can take the spot and run with it. But if his finishing inside stays weak and his jumper gets soft? I think we at least afford Trey a fair(er) chance.

Covington and Morris are similar type players maybe Covington is ahead by a smidge ....
BUT Morris is getting paid 5 million for the next 2 years while Covington would need 17-18 million for next year. This means you can be major players in FA.
Smart is perfect for you guys off the bench as you desperately need perimeter defense.

Nah, you can keep them. Sounds like you should want to keep Morris.
And TJ is on one of the best contracts in the league, versus Smart as an upcoming free agent.
Easy pass for us.
Okafor and Anderson for that Clippers pick. On the table...

Justin Anderson doesn't have a pertinent role to hand over to Lyles, though. He's not in our rotation. He plays 12 minutes a game and was a healthy DNP in 4 of the 9 games we played.
If you look at the minute allocation over the last two games, it's hard to envision a 20 minute role for Lyles while Dario is on the roster.

Oh I agree. I just think that's enough for him to show what he can do, and we'd be the better for it as a squad in short and long-term. With Holmes back and Okafor for Lyles, I would excise Johnson and Anderson from the rotation completely. 32:16 Embiid-Holmes, Saric-Lyles, Covington-TLC, Redick-Fultz, Simmons-McConnell.
Cooking with grease!
Id love to convert Okafor into some competition at a position of need. Plus, I don't put it out of the question that Lyles outperforms Saric and takes minutes from him. Then there's Bolden next year, and free agency. If Fultz is real, that four spot is where our improvement lies.
He could still get bounced out if our rotation. But he also has a chance to make himself a useful piece on an up and coming squad.
