Detroit Sacramento trade proposal

Post#1 » by Shamdizzle » Sun Nov 5, 2017 8:47 pm

How about

Boban leuer bullock and first

For

Randolph and temple ( or carter )

For detroit
Get legit backup pf and get rid of bad contracts and guys riding bench

For Sacramento
Neither player figures in Long term plan
They take on some smaller contracts for first round pick

That's a huge waste of a 1st rounder

I'd be very wary of Zach Randolph in this lockerroom. We're also, for better or worse, trading our back-up centers in this trade. I don't trade a first rounder for a 36 yr old back-up.

1 - Temple is not required here due to the logjam at guard

2 - what's Randolph's contract look like?

Given our cap situation moving forward I'm open to attaching a first with a couple of guys in a consolidation trade but this is unlikely to be it.

I really don't mind moving Boban, Leuer or Bullock, but I see no reason to throw in a 1st when all we get back is Zach Randolph.

The reasoning behind it is clear... Sac takes on longer term money (I assume... Z-Bo and the other are shorter deals than Leuer, right?), takes guys we aren't playing, and gives us someone that could play. For our 1st. It's clear Randolph brings some shooting (did you see those 3's?), and his character issues are in the distant past.

Personally, I like it. I'd wait a little bit (say, 30 game mark) to make sure we're looking like we're picking very clear of the lottery, but if that's the case, yes.

Just checked:

Z-Bo is making 12.3 this year and 11.7 next year, so 2/24.
Vince is making 8 on a one year deal.

Leuer is 10.5, 10.0, and 9.5, so 3/30.
Boban is 7 and 7, so 2/14.
Bullock is 2.5 and 2.5, but the second year isn't guaranteed.

Even for this year (with Z-Bo as the most useful player, clearly), saves about 6 million next year, and almost 10 million the third year.

In my mind, that's close to the value of our pick if we're picking around 20th. I can understand those that don't want to do it, and a little more sweetener might help, but it does make sense.

Tempting for sure. I wouldn't take on Temple's deal since we're set at SG but Carters is expiring and I think we could use another vet/locker room guy. I think this deal makes us a little better and we clear our worst contracts off the books (Leuer/Boban). Moreland has shown enough to be our backup center and Ellenson should be able to help in spot situations as well. I approve!

Maybe Kings could throw in Papagiannis to sway some of the Pistons fans giving this trade the thumbs down? he doesn't seem to be in the rotation and would be buried behind WCS, Boban, Kufos, Leuer

Didn't he get arrested with a **** of weed at some block party right around the start of this season?

I suppose if you consider ganja a character issue, OK. But I'm pretty sure well over half of the league smokes regularly, and it's not an issue beyond the legality in most locations.

Sacramento’s front office is really really dumb. But not dumb enough to take on three more years of Leuer and two of Boban for what is starting to look like a pick in the teens. Detroit should do this in a heartbeat, but I can’t see it happening.

you open a new account, and this is the first post you make? you might as well and just start over and make another account, one of the worse trade proposals this season.

Shamdizzle, breaks his silence after two years of being on RealGM. Just to post a horrible trade idea to get Sacramento a 1st round pick and get out of Randolph's bad contract.

A first round draft pick for a 36 year old player? No thanks.
