The banana boat players are overhyped

Post#1 » by wudupp » Sun Nov 5, 2017 9:47 pm

out of all of lebrons friends, hes the only one with nba success...besides wade, at least he had his moment where he was on top of the nba..everyone talks about if lbj and friends joined up. i really believe the window has closed on the guys like melo, cp3 and wade
the only way these guys will win another title is if its with lebron, they are all over rated at this point in their career
if a guy like lebron is making 30mil a year, cp3 and melo should be getting 20mil max! and wade knows hes lucky to get 10mil at this point

Yea, the other 3 are either finished or very close to it. I doubt he really still desires to play with all these guys at once unless maybe they're vet min additions like Wade was

I mean.... there is pretty much already a consensus on the fact that the "banana boat" would not end in a championship.

Everyone knows a Banana Boat team wouldn’t work out.

The only reason we keep talking about it:

1) It would still be interesting and/or entertaining to see these guys together regardless of wins and losses.

2) People like saying “Banana Boat” as if it’s a cool inside thing to know and speak of.

You're really questioning the careers of Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, and Carmelo Anthony?

And wait until Chris Paul returns to judge if he's washed.

out of all of lebrons friends, hes the only one with nba success

We are talking about CP3, Wade, Carmelo right?

If they are not considered successful nba players then there aren't that many successful players in the league.

If LeBron has ever seriously entertained the idea of a Banana Boat team, I think playing with washed-up Wade will change his mind on that.

It was a fun idea 5 years ago when they were all All-Star level players. Its stupid to think about when they are all 32-35 years old.

they had successful stats, looked good as players..but i guess success is subjective, melo been to the conference finals once...cp3 has yet to reach

By your subjective qualifications for a NBA player to be considered successful, Tracy McGrady (who never made a Conference Finals or NBA Finals before riding the pine for the Spurs in 2013) should not be a Hall of Famer. Good luck trying to get people outside the internet to believe you.

LOL. You can argue about CP3, but Wade? Come on. Dude won 3 championships, was Finals MVP and went to 5 finals.

Melo is the only overrated one. Wade, CP3, and Lebron all had all time great peaks. CP3 and Lebron are all time great players.

Paul is still elite. The other two are not very good.

Why is Melo overrated? Relative to what?

D Wade has 3 rings and while he's washed now he's certainly a top 5 OAT 2 guard and a first ballot HoF

CP is firmly a top 10 Point guard OAT and just came off a season where he averaged 18 a game in 30 minutes and had a TS of like 62TS%

Carmelo is playing just fine in OKC and averaged over 25ppg FOR HIS CAREER. He'll end his career about a few thousand points shy of 30k

What the hell are you talking about fam lol

Who cares if he's washed now, Dwyane Wade got both LeBron and Gabrielle Union their first ring.

Nah, Shaq got Wade his first ring and Lebron got Wade his second ring.

Without Shaq or Lebron, Wade would be ringless.

Well, it's always a hard pill to swallow, but especially in today's faster NBA, father time creeps up fast.

If ya can't defend against quick feet, and you're teamed with other aging slow pokes, then the disadvantage just keeps stacking like a bad case of Tetris.

A few guys can dominate past 32... even less can after 34...

Lebron and Paul are basically in the last year or two of their dominant days, while Melo and Wade are basically bench talent at this point.
