Oh, Mac we got a bet going...what was it? Lol

Hmm. I'm not joking, i have not idea what the bet was but I've actually never won a bet so I'm pretty sure i'm on the losing end. I am great at poker though.

It was something about the Cavs Celts? Oh, I think who got the better deal...you said Celts at the time and I said Cavs....i think that was it.

#pokernightindasac

Ah yes. I'm going to win that bet no doubt in my mind.

So, I know we're rooting for HOU to lose a lot of games.

But, what exactly do we want from Minny again?

We need them to be good, but not too good? Their underwhelming start is of some concern, right?

I think we just need them to make the playoffs right? Ideally 8th seed but doesn't look like there is much chance of them getting into the top 5 in the west.

Houston pick is top 3 protected?

Yes sir I believe Houston is top 3 protected..Minny top 14 protected.

1. Hawks
3. Rox
15. Minny

Potentially 3 out of the first 15 picks..but I'm
Thinking it goes something more like..

3. Hawks
21. Minny
26. Houston

Something like that, which isn't bad at all.

Tbh their underwhelming start is beneficial to us IMO. Barring injury, they have too much talent to miss the playoffs (KAT, Butler, Wiggins, Teague, a strong bench). I'd be more worried if they were tearing through the west and potentially giving us a weaker pick than expected.

If their pick is in the teens that would be wonderful. We all saw what Schlenk did with a late teens pick last year.

As for Houston, they're too good for me to expect anything better than the 27th pick. If we do get a better pick then that'll be a very pleasant surprise.

As of today, based on NBA record, the draft picks look something like:

Atlanta: Top-4
Minnesota: #21
Houston: #26

I hope Schlenk has a solid plan for these...

I hope that Luke Babbitt becomes a full time starter for the Hawks, and maybe the team can flip him for a first round pick soon.

Turns out I was wrong about him, he's been playing pretty well the last few games. Pleasant surprise.

is it time to trade him yet? naw, keep building value and helping the young guys keep it presentable, couple more months and bring in another first. Got a team to rebuild

A handy tool for keeping track of our draft pick:

Read on Twitter

Today, we're looking at Top-3, #27 and #28.

If nothing else, we should be relieved that neither Cleveland or Boston is projected to receive another top 3 pick next season.

STATUS UPDATE ON OUR Draft PICKS:

We're currently slated for a top-3 selection, #22 (from Minnesota), #29 (from HOU) and #32 overall.

(Just for giggles, I'd be prepared to draft Doncic, Brandon McCoy, Shake Milton and Alize Johnson with those 4 selections.)

That pick by Minnesota could completely fluctuate with how many teams are right there with them in the overall standings. Every loss by them is a positive at this point.

I'm giving up hope for a pick higher than maybe 28 for Houston. They look too good, and I think this is the year James Harden finally wins MVP.

It's looking like a real strong draft setting the Hawks up nicely. Couple moves should be made to make things look even better. As a tough rebuild season moves along, it's going to be a lot of fun speculating on 4-5 top 32 picks

Doncic and Wendell Carter would be a great first two or Ayton or...

I have got to think that the Min pick, if they do wind up in the playoffs, winds up around the high-teens with them being in the West, right? Pretty early to see how that's going to shake out but that's my gut now, even knowing the wholeEast sucks. that HOU pick seems destined for 27-30, but injuries happen...is it wrong to wish for that? Now that Plumlee is back (boy oh boy am I excited....) maybe we really can count on a top three pick. gotta think Belli is dangled as trade bait to a borderline playoff team or contender needing extra ammo off the bench. Same for Babbitt if his back ever gets back right again.

I could see Marco being on just about every playoff team in the league. I'm sure we're already getting calls.
