This is a game against a really good team and a Hawks digital media person is giving tickets away... Maybe it wasn't a good idea to shoot ticket prices up in the first year of a full scale rebuild.

^Agreed.

The Celtics take an eight-game winning streak into their Monday night game against the Hawks at Philips Arena. They look like a team that still could challenge for the Eastern Conference title.

...the key for the Celtics (8-2) has been the stingy defense they are exhibiting for coach Brad Stevens.

Boston has allowed 94 points or fewer in every game of the winning streak.

The Hawks (2-8) won Sunday for the first time since their opener at Dallas, beating the Cavaliers in Cleveland 117-115 to snap an eight-game losing streak despite missing five players with injuries.

Dennis Schroder had 28 points and nine assists, but the Hawks got key contributions from almost everyone.

The Hawks won two of the three games against the Celtics last season, losing only Horford's first game back in Atlanta.

8-)

Some points to ponder from the old man:

Hawks can hit the three ball. Prince, I've been saying, is capable. He's not alone, but he is capable.
Our center this season is as good as last years. Seems we now have two. Who would now trade Dedmon
and Collins for D8, last year's center? If so, please explain.
When the Hawks are aggressive enough, draw fouls and then hit a good % of their free throws, this helps.
Everyone knows how I feel about missing free throws. I haven't changed my mind on this.
Sometimes we must wonder, is our bench this good or, are our starters this bad. Example: We had a long
list out last game, yet, the remainder of the team snapped that long losing streak against the Cavs.
Speed kills, so we are told. Hawks now have two speedy point guards.

Three gripes about our commercials we see during the game:

1- Dumb dad. No NBA game is EVER sold out, his 10 year old son points out how stupid dad is.

2- Car commercial, praising law breaker, illlegialy parked, the officer closing in and they escape.

3- Law breaker, speeding, gets a ticket, not because they didn't set cruise control, pay any attention to their speed
or were aware of what they were doing. No, they got ticket because their information got to them too slow.
Bull Feathers. If they weren't breaking the law, they would have no ticket.

I hate the stinking Celtics...everything from their ugly colors to their ugly logos to their ugly real life human troll doll players in Alicia Hormunch. Danny Ainge can get Lou Gehrig's disease... Bird, McHale and Ainge were always a bit borderline racist as well in my humble opinion.

Al Horford might be the single most overrated player when a team is having success...fool's gold...wait till the playoffs when he averages 3 boards a game. Celts are a glorified regular season team with Kyrie...

F the Celts!

Let's win this one and play really physical with these mamas boys.

LETS GO HAWKS!!!!!

#Aliciahorford #Annawhoford #traitortoatlanta

Ps Watch ur torn breast Al...those things tend to come back and RIP again...specially when Prince is fighting you for the ball..

Pps God I wish I was at this game to heckle that dumbo eared Alice.

Oh Spud2. Better to be insane than to be inane, huh?

I agree with your general sentiment which is that we hope to win this game. BOS is a hard-playing team. I just hope we can match their energy/effort. Hope Kyme aka Mr. Faux-Intellect focuses more on his word-o'-the-day pop-up book than he does on the playbook.

Also hope JBrown tries to go full-Kobe in front of the hometown fans. Then I hope Tatum follow suit and jus' starts jakin' up shots, shots, shots-shots-shots-shots ... e'vrybody!!!

Seriously though, hope to see continued improvement from Printz and JC aka Jesus (pronounced Hey-Zeus) and improved play from the trade chips.

What is wrong with Marco?
2-11, 0-5 and 0-4 - shot attempts and makes last 3 games.
Is the achilles biting him more? SHould Bud rest him - give Tyler Dorsey some minutes?

This is something that all fanbases can agree on - this commercial sucks in so many ways.

First off, the dad sounds like a jealous prick. "THE ANDERSONS GOT TICKETS TO THE GAME? HOW'D THEY GET TICKETS?". I mean, dad is setting an awfully bad example for his child. Why get so mad about the "Andersons" getting tickets? Why throw shade their way, just because they happened to get tickets. Perhaps there's some backstory to the whole thing, that will eventually get explained in another commercial. Prequel, sequel - it doesn't matter. I just want to know what dad has against the Andersons, because on the surface, they look like very nice people.

Also, how does 10 year old son know where to get tickets to the game and dad, who sounds like an avid basketball fan, has no clue? I mean, he could have went to stubhub and seatgeek as well. Most sports fans know about those sites. How does dad not know how to get tickets? Is he that dumb? Perhaps.

Meanwhile, you've got the hot mom making dinner over there. She's probably the best thing about this commercial, until you start digging deeper and find out that she too, just like dad, is a horrible parent. It seems like she was just pretending to make dinner, as she and her son had this plan to take advantage of dad's FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) to snag tickets to the game. As soon as dad yells "We're going.... to the game!", you can see her nod in approval towards the child, indicating that their plan had worked!! If anything, she used her child as a pawn, in order to get what she wanted. Why couldn't she just ask her husband to get tickets before the game, rather than making her son rehearse some lines about getting tickets from nbatickets.com? Also, what if dad hadn't seen the Andersons pop up on TV? Then dad's FOMO doesn't kick in, and this whole plan goes to waste. Not only is she a bad mother, but also a bad planner.

Last but not least, one would only hope that this family lived pretty close to the arena. It looks like the game is about to start, so not only are they at risk of missing some of the game, but if they had to drive in, it's more likely than not that all the good parking spots are taken already, meaning dad would have to waste even more time circling the arena.

Anyhow, good luck in tonight's game, fellas.

This is hilarious. Just be glad you aren't subject to Philips 'electronics' commercials in Boston.

And don't be offended by anything Spud says about the celtics. He's still mad that he's losing his bet about Kyrie.

It's all good. A little animosity between teams and fanbases is always good fun. I didn't take any offense to it, since this is the Hawks board after all. Feel free to spit all the vitriol towards the Celtics. I'm just a guest here.

But maaaaan, whenever I see someone talking about the NBAtickets.com commercial, I just get triggered. It is truly an awful piece of marketing, and as bad as the commercial is, it's even worse if you have a subscription to Sirius XM, because they play it on the NBA channel in audio form about 3-4 times every hour. I swear, whenever I hear it when I'm driving, I feel like just stomping the gas pedal and smashing my car into the nearest tree, just so I don't have to hear that dad whine about the Andersons getting tickets to the game anymore. I've been complaining about that ad on NBA Fan surveys for the past year and a half.

First, seeing your avatar makes me hate Selltics fans more. Order has been restored! :)

Also, for the record, the attention you're giving to the ad strengthens their resolve. In their opinion, due to correspondence like yours, the campaign is working.

Curse you, you stinking leprechaun.

Yeah, my bad. I've had this same avatar for the past 5 years now, and I completely forgot that it came in a game where Pierce hit some very big buckets to help seal the deal vs the Hawks. I believe it was the game where Rondo was suspended. Man, I still can't believe we won that series. I mean, at that point, it was just a bunch of old guys wearing green outside of Rondo. That series loss must have been devastating for your franchise. I really thought the Celtics were going to lose.

Plz lose.

Though Dedmon, Baze, and Moose do well for trade value.

Nope...can't stand losing to puke green. The tank will survive the rest of the season.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
