It's sad but it's the most critical game of the year to lose. A loss against the Giants firmly puts them in the driver seat for the 2nd overall pick and keeps them in contention for the #1 overall pick.

And the Giants will likely be in the hunt for a QB so staying ahead of them is critical to making the pick desirable for a trade.

If they lose to the Giants it's tough for me to see where they pick up a win this season. The roster wasn't good going into the season but leading the league in players on the IR has made it look like they're fielding a 4th preseason game lineup.

Defense had potential in the secondary this year if we didn't squander it giving time to unworthy players

Reaser was cut and failed to make an impact. It was obvious if he couldn't catch on after all this time he wasn't going to make it at least as a starter.

Akhello should have been starting all season. The guy didn't suddenly become a physical player, but he actually got a shot to play and proved his worth. Reaser SHOULD have been given the same opportunity. Dontae is clearly not the answer, but due to politics or maybe because he's a better tackler has been given a long leash. Akhello is going to settle into his role as a starter and will NOT be anymore of a physical player than he was in training camp.

IMO, tackling/physicality barely factors into a great CB—coverage does.

The coaching staff clearly felt Witherspoon was not ready yet and maybe he wasn't. Johnson is more physical and fits what they are looking for but Johnson does have his issues and we need to draft another corner. Reaser was a bit better overall than Johnson at coverage but that isn't saying much. Reaser has his issues too and I am not confident he really anything of an upgrade as a starter

Reaser I would say is a whole lot better in coverage than Johnson and that's all that matters as a CB.
