Cleveland lost to Atlanta, they should be desperate for a center.

Okafor for Clevelands 2018 1st, if available?

Washburn compliments Okafor for the way he has handled a difficult situation and says the No. 3 pick in the 2015 draft has kept himself in good shape despite the lack of playing time. Denver has several pieces I like:
I still like Mudiay (I know y'all don't).
I'd also take a flyer on Trey Lyles. Would like to see him compete with Saric and Anderson.
Malik Beasley? ok.

im pretty high on malik beasley. hes buried on the nuggets roster with harris, murray and barton. would LOVE it to get him for jah

Denver seems pretty set at C with Jokic and Plumlee. Not sure why Amico thinks they may have interest in Jah. Unless he’s just repeating that rumor from last year before they traded Nurkic.

Boston, Chicago, San Antonio, Atlanta, Brooklyn, Cleveland, Dallas, Lakers, Memphis, OKC, and Phoenix all seem like teams that could use Jah to varying degrees.

Yasss! Was mad he got snatched up before we picked in the 2nd. Richaun Holmes is a nice consolation prize, though. Lol

Korkmaz and Osman would be epic. Our own Tatum and Brown. Off the bench, with TJ and Dario and Richaun. Grit and skill!

With a top-notch forward, all of our pieces would fit nicely.

Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz, Robert Covington, Free Agent, Joel Embiid
TJ McWinner, Korkmaz, Osman, Saric, Holmes
Bayless, LA18, Timothe Luwawu-C, PHI18, Jonah Bolden

Maybe if the Cavs spent some time developing Osman and Zizic during this early portion of the regular season instead of wasting time with terrible Tristan Thompson and J.R. Smith, they'd have some fresh, young, seasoned weapons for the Finals push.

I think all teams will still want at least one big body on the squad who can abuse folks down low.

The Case for Kent Bazemore...

Im starting to think that maybe Bryan is on to something, in that by not picking up his option a team gets a) his offensive abilities down low off the bench this year and an insurance policy against injuries, b) his expiring contract which may be worth more to a capped out team than his play. Add them together and he's more attractive than if his option were picked up. Plus, c) there may be no down-side to him being an unrestricted free agent because, considering this past summer's market, Okafor's probably looking at one or two-year prove it deals, and will get less than $6M per annum.

If Atlanta wants to shed Kent Bazemore's contract, we can give them several expiring deals. If we can exchange Bayless and Okafor for Bazemore, we'd be in pretty much the exact same cap position for Covington, Embiid and the big fish free agent. Atlanta gets out of Bazemore's deal with a little something to show for it. They need to run with Dedmon and Okafor now, and draft either Bamba or Deandre Ayton. They'll have a better chance at those dudes if they go full tank and move Bazemore. He's not essential.

Matter of fact, since Atlanta's already going to lose no matter what, Okafor will sell more tickets to the casual Hawks fan than Bazemore!

Even though Bazemore is a useful player, his contract is so bad that I feel he becomes a negative asset.

Atlanta would have to be attaching a 2019 or 2020 1st rounder to Bazemore for me to consider relieving them of that situation.

Id def pass on Bazemore. His contract is a big NO for me.

He would essentially remove any hope of landing a high level FA in the off-season.

Coincidentally... ATL owns both Minnesota’s 1st (lotto protected) and Houston’s 1st (via LAC).

So I would be okay with Stauskas, Bayless, and Okafor for Bazemore and the better of MIN/HOU 1st.

I want to explore attaching a 2nd rounder to Jerryd Bayless and getting a rotation player on an expiring contract in return.

Bayless + Houston 2nd rounder to Atlanta for Marco Belinelli?

what do you guys think about a saric<>hood swap? hood's rookie-contract is expiring, so i tend do say no, despite dario bein a big negative so far. i lurked on the jazzboard and they seem enamored with the idea of trading for dario.

I think it will be an Ilyasova type trade where a team is making a push for a playoff run and would give up a pick or an underutilized young player for him.

Bayless and Okafor for Bazemore is basically cap neutral, given that we would have max cap space even with Okafor's cap hold. Getting Bazemore does not prevent us from getting a max level player (not to mention there are only three worth getting George, LBJ and Cousins).

As for Bazemore's contract being negative, he only has two years left on it, and we're not getting it to deal it later, we're getting him to play him. No different than giving JJ Redick $25M. It's not to trade him, its to play him.

Anyway, next option:

Okafor for DJ Wilson? I'm with it.

Okafor for a prototypical big man in today's NBA? Bucks will politely decline.

Bayless for Reed
Suns get a vet guard that they can accommodate capwise and we shed 8M in salaries and get a(nother) wing prospect.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
