How the hell did we get more for Dragic after he demanded a trade with only a few hours to spare on the deadline?

Or for a disgruntled and worse player in Morris?

McD is getting raped by the Bucks in every trade he makes with them. He needs to stop doing trades with them and the Celtics!

I wonder if we'd do what the Lakers did with KCP and give someone a 1 year deal for like $20, then resign Len using bird rights. Still keeps long term money off the books, while getting a useful player in here.

Free agent guards:
Chris Paul - probably wouldn't come here
Isaiah Thomas - probably wouldn't come here
Marcus Smart - RFA (would the Celtics match a 1 year near max deal?)
Elfrid Payton - RFA (would the Magic match a 1 year near max deal?)
Avery Bradley - could he and Booker work? No true PG there...

Free agent centers:
Brook Lopez - would he take a 1 year max? doubt it
Jahlil Okafar - I want...
Nerlens Noel - meh
Jusuf Nurkic - RFA, Portland would probably match anything
Clint Capela - RFA, Houston would probably match anything

I think for RFA's, the smallest deal that can be offered is like 2 years with a 3rd year option.
KCP had his rights relinquished and he became a UFA. That's why it worked out the way it did for him.

I could see him throwing a huge contract at Bradley considering he was with Boston when they drafted him. I wouldn't be opposed to going after him as he'd probably work well with Booker. I wouldn't want to overpay him obviously but to sign anyone any good in the NBA you pretty much have to overpay them unless you have a team full of guys on rookie contracts outperforming.

Smart and Payton likely wouldn't sign big one year deals and might prefer more security I'm guessing. Rich Paul is convincing some of his free agents to sign 1 year deals telling them they will get better deals next summer (Noel, Caldwell-Pope) and I doubt they will get any better than they were being offered this past summer.

Bradley has never averaged more than 2 assists a game (if we're going to bring him in as PG).

So the Suns did a trade based on Bledsoe's preferred destinations?? This can't be serious especially when Bledsoe is a player under contract for 2 more years...

Would've been much better off trading for Okafor than Monrie.

Sucks but I knew contracts + 1st rounder was all we were going to get once McD decided to wait until the drama started. This clown just needs to be a scout, he has no idea how to run a team.

McDonough needs to turn the Miami, Milwaukee, Memphis, Toronto 2018 picks into something, we don't need 6 rookies.

Bender isn't a Center and I don't think he's available. Monroe may be bought out except there's no incentive to do so at the moment. We do need a roster spot if we're going to keep Mike James after his 2-way expires though.

I know that he is not a great player, but Monroe is a decent player to have on this roster. I want to watch him play.

He has a big expiring contract that we need arrive to the salary's floor, so not incentive to trade him in that regard.

A player like him can give us different options on offense, he is similar to Kanter in the post.

We saw last week against the Knicks that a post presence is a good weapon to have.

But who does Monroe take minutes from?

And who do we cut for Mike James?

Monroe is a huge expiring. Nothing more. No worries there.

This is a decent value trade.

I'd probably rather get cap space than Delly or something. Obviously we held out for a good young player/player with upside but it wasn't in the cards.

I would too, but Black hits on a point none of us want to believe is true. No one wants to sign here. What's the point of having cap space if you can't use it or if you do it's for the washed up Chandlers and Dudleys of the world?

Well I don't think we've really tried to sign anyone in the last couple of summers. Sure we went after Blake but he was obviously just using us as leverage.

But the main thing is, anyone who is a free agent and is really good has been in the league for 8-9 years and usually only leaves if they are going to a place with a better chance to win, or the team is playing a lot more, and we can't provide that.

But more importantly, if you have a lot of draft picks and young guys, you don't want to put yourself in position to not be able to pay them all if you want to because you have too many Knight/Telly deals on the books.

Not going to lie. This front office sucks.

Monroe is not good and no future with the Suns. Their first they got will be 18-32 which isn't a good pick most of the time. Luck of the draw.

I would have rather got Okafor and a 1st or event 2nd then what we got. Kid is young

I would have rather traded to clippers, nuggets, etc. I would have rather got Mudiay too!

I doubt that is why we moved him there.
My guess is, only the Bucks could offer us an expiring contract. So we took it.

With 3 firsts, maybe some will be used to bring in a player who can actually help.

Well, maybe we waive Monroe. No real sense in keeping him. I would say Len if they don't have plans to keep him past this year, but he's young, playing fairly well at times, and would likely cost a lot less to keep if we decide we want to keep him.

I can't wait till Devin Booker demands a trade next within a year or two and gets traded for a late 1st too.

I don't think it will need to be protected considering I expect you guys to make the playoffs, but if you guys don't make the playoffs, do you know what the protection is next year?
