Why is everyone killing McD here? You act like there's always going to be a way to get the best possible deal. He's not great, but calling him the worst? That's honestly laughable. You act like he's not hand tied by our owner. You act like his hand wasn't forced by Bled. Sure, we wanted him gone at the end of last season, and we HEARD (WE JUST HEARD OF RUMORS THAT WE HAD A DEAL IN PLACE) that we wanted to trade him, but who's to say those are 1.) true 2.) if they were true, that we were the one to say no instead of them telling us no.

Knee jerk reactions make me laugh. I know people are going to come at me with all their evidence that he's literally Hitler, but sometimes you lose trades, and it's not our fault. With the information we've been given, without any speculation as to what Bled did or didn't do in regards to asking to leave, Bled is the one that put us in this position. He tweeted his way out and that's what we know.

Sure, McD could be better, but honestly, to call him the worst is a knee jerk reaction.

The pick is lottery protected. Lmao so we can't even root for the Bucks to lose games.

The cap space appears to have been a big part of why we did this deal. There simply aren't many large expiring contracts out there.

Also, there's no guarantee the Bucks will be good this season... wonder about that protection. RN, Suns would be 5th, Miami 6-8th (tied) and Milwaukee 9-10th (tied). Assuming MIL 1st unprotected, that would be two/three lotto picks.

Good chance we'd be able to get both a C and a PG in this one.

As for this year... IDK.

It's not much different than what we would have gotten in the summer. I mean we always could have taken a Denver first and Mudiay, but now that would have also required taking back a longer term contract to match salaries like Faried or Arthur. Better to just get an expiring.

This is better than any trade I've seen being floated on this board, really.

Love the expiring + 1st rounder for this team. If you thought we should get more you were over valuing bled.

Truthfully, considering bled was no good for this team anyway, I can't believe we got the deal done.

Hope we will use the cap space to take back a bad contract for assets in the off-season, like Nets did with Mozgov/D'Angelo.

Yeah, the east is tougher (not at the very top, but to get into the playoffs) than I expected with Detroit, Orlando and even Indiana playing pretty well. If they make the playoffs, it could be the 7th or 8th seed. There is definitely a decent chance one of them or Miami misses the playoffs.

And if they miss the playoffs, and it rolls over to next year, maybe that is better, to get two firsts in 2018 and 2019. Assuming it doesn't turn into two seconds next year. If it does, this is a bad deal.

What are they saving cap space for? No star player is waiting to join the Suns.

This just feels deflating. After the start of this season and us becoming an even bigger laughing stock than we already were, I think fans had a ray of hope that we might get something good in this trade instead of a 20s-at-best draft pick and an expiring mediocre big man.

Why did he wait till now to trade Bledsoe when his value was shot?

He knew Bledsoe wasn't part of the longterm plans/rebuild why didn't he trade him last year or during the summer?

Not ANY but probably most. I would have loved to get more, but we would have to give up a pick or player in addition to Bledsoe to do it. This is about what I expected for just Bledsoe. I do have a hunch that Monroe will be useful this year. At least he will give us some consistent inside scoring. But his real value is as a huge expiring.

Looks like the Len experiment is done. But I would not be surprised to see a Chandler trade.

Monroe was +1.55 in 22MPG last year per RPM.

Oh we did? You knew that? I know he's been in trade talks, but before this summer, he was all in trying to be a leader. Not saying I wanted him to stay, I wanted to try and deal him for a PG this past summer, but hindsight is something we all wish we had. We didn't know he was going to kill his trade stock with one tweet.

It's amazing how we went from Dragic/IT/Bledsoe to Mike James in 3 short years.

Of course not. Why would they? I explained in a response to carey why it is important if you don't know.

Not a great example to set to our players.

Throw a tantrum and get traded to a better team to make $150m x 3.

Really the only good thing about this is we didn't take back a long term bad contract. The pick is lottery protected and we don't even have a roster spot next year for 3 firsts let alone one selected in the latter 1/3 of the first round.

He probably did try to trade him and there were no good offers. The unexpected antics of he and his agent screwed things up.
