the benefit to moose and Bledsoe is that they add offense when no one else can create it. in todays league Bledsoe is a gazillion times better fit for this role than Monroe ever was. plus Bledsoe can help in our switching defense and to speed the pace where we can get easy baskets. moose was a monstrous hindrance to both.

this other notion that moose's expiring would have given us the ability to draw an mle vet potentially better than Bledsoe. while possible, seems unlikely. in the meantime we DO get better this year. if this team remains healthy and fails to succeed the spotlight will be 100% on the coaching staff. Bledsoe has never not won when he had talent. Monroe has never won period. it was time to move on.

great deal. literally no downside unless Bledsoes knees suddenly give way. unlikely considering he hasn't missed any games because of them since two seasons ago and he just had his most productive statistical season ever. defense should be back to normal as hes asked for less on the offensive end and will be playing in less garbage time.

I am **** pumped. I wanted this so badly.

This looks like the Suns will probably get a pick in the 20s in 2020.

The protections are a big plus. Value-wise, this is a slam dunk.

I'm not convinced this makes us a whole lot better this year. But if it's followed up with a move for a real center, then I will be. Our center position is the worst in the league. If we had a better coach that would just let Giannis play center most of the time I wouldn't be too worried, but we have an idiot for a coach. Need a real center. Badly.

Bledsoe is a scary guy, both for us and our opponents. If he's healthy and motivated (which he should be), this make the Bucks a pretty formidable. I worry about his knees, but we basically gave up nothing, so I guess I'm happy with this deal.

If 'meh' were an option on the poll, that's what I would've voted.

Well if it doesn't convey in year 1-3 and Giannis goes down in year 4 and then bolts we'd be screwed. Then again, we'd be screwed even with that pick.

As a Bucks fan, expecting just that.

I really can't believe the Suns got so little. They couldn't have possibly botched this entire situation any more than they did.

Once Jabari comes back I bet Giannis will be playing a ton more center.

That said, I'm surprised we didn't swap Teletovic for Chandler as part of the deal. Maybe there is something to Chandler being happy in Phoenix.

Otherwise our rebounding got even worse and we lost our only enforcer in the paint.

On that front I agree we (hopefully) are not done. Fortunately centers are a dime a dozen in the league at the moment.

We might immediately move to the top of potential Okafor destinations in particular, especially if all he'd cost are Vaughn + a 2nd or the like.

Noel and Robin Lopez would both be good fits too.

That's a little too specific of a situation. There's like .01% chance that happens.

AZumwalt wrote:I kind of think we will see another trade sometime this season. We will definitely need to replace Moose. If we went with Henson and Maker the rest of the season, we won't win 45 games.

You'd think, but even if we do execute one it might be minor not supplanting Thon nor John, more just an alternative to them. And there's a good chance we do nothing if history is the guide. Because going into '15-'16, I thought there must have been follow-up moves to the Zaza and Dudley trades, as well as Monroe acquisition, to address shooting. Then it just never happened.

I am waiting for a secondary trade to negate all the happy feelings about this one. That would be so Buckish.

Will Monroe later being traded by Phoenix for a 1st rounder sting a bit?

Does Bledsoe have knee issues other than the torn meniscus?
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

dont these protections mean we cant trade any 1st rounders for the next few years? How on earth do we solve the salary/tax problem?
