I think we can only take on 4m to stay below the tax. If a team is tanking at the end of the season and want to ride themselves of an old 4m center to save some bucks, we could get them and cut Liggins?

I like that there is one person (so far) who hates the trade on the poll. Good to know you are on RealGM Mr. Monroe. I hope PHX gives you a generous buyout.

Bledsoe--knees aside--is most likely better than anyone we'd get out of the top 11 next year. Guaranteed player.

I'd be curious whether Suki can help out Bledsoe's knees moving forward too.

My money's on Nowak. He really wants Thon gone.

Thanks, that is part of what I was curious about actually. I didn't know if the exceptions allowed you to go over or something. I don't know the intricacies of the CBA.

They can't be combined, so it's just about claiming or trading for players whose salaries fit within them.

We have a 5m exception for Hibbert, a 3.38m exception for Monroe, and a 1.15m exception from Plumlee.

I like this deal more now after seeing all the protections. Hopefully Bledsoe can play at the level he did last season

Y'all want Kanter? I think KOQ would fit your team perfectly (finished write-up on him, just putting final touches on article) if we decide to trade him - WHICH is up in air because I've heard that we want him back, it all depends on price. Not sure how a KOQ deal would work, but I think (with the Bledsoe addition and assuming Parker comes back and is effective) the team could be more than just an ECF contending team and a legit finals contending team from the east.

Only after making the pick on another team's behalf. If the pick does not convey, then there's a chance they end up conveying the pick in 2019. You can't make any trade that has the potential to leave you without a first-round pick in two consecutive future years. Trading the '18 pick could leave them without one in 2018 and 2019, but during the 2018 draft, it would only (potentially) leave them without a pick in 2019.

You can get around this by trading other picks with tons of contingencies that depend on when this pick is coveyed, or you can acquire very late first-rounders and trade away your own picks for that year. It doesn't matter whose first-rounder it is and it doesn't matter what you did with picks that have already happened, even if you trade them as soon as you pick them; you just can't risk being without one in two consecutive future years.

Appreciate the clarification...thanks.

Nowak's gonna be really sad when Monroe is sent to LA for Luol Deng and Julius Randle.

I sure hope we have someone in the locker room strong enough to not let Bledsoe take over.
If he hates Phoenix, it sure will be interesting what he thinks of Milwaukee in January.
That being said, it was most likely a risk worth taking.

As long as he smells the leaves for a week of a Wisconsin fall he should bank that memory and love it here. Someone take him for a walk on the ice age trail, a cone at Kopps, a bike ride along the lake before it's too cold.

Are pages 1-24 worth reading, or is it just ideal speculation/freaking out about who we traded?
