Bobcats or Hornets throwbacks?

From a recent interview with Kwame Brown. Also mentioned that he remembers playing with Diaw and Stephen Jackson very fondly. Diaw would find him in great places, Jax had everyone's back.

But I’d say my best coach was Paul Silas. I could play with Paul Silas anywhere. He was so straight forward; he wouldn’t B.S. you. He actually used to take me out of games because I wouldn’t shoot the ball! I got so programmed to just focus on rebounding and defending, so that’s all I’d do. That’s what they’d say to me everywhere else, so I listened and just did those things. Coach Silas knew I had other skills and he wanted me to use them. I was used to getting taken out of the game for shooting. So in Charlotte I was like, “Wait a minute, now I have this guy taking me out of the game because I’m not shooting the ball? Is this real?” It was great. I had a lot of fun in Charlotte and got back to a place where I could just have fun playing the game every night. It didn’t feel like a job. Paul Silas told me that his coach had told him the exact same thing when he was playing – he challenged him to shoot more – and he had his best season so that’s why he would coach that way.

Looks like Nike/NBA is getting rid of the home/road designations, and just allowing teams to designate one while home, and then the road team would then pick a contrasting one. Which leads me to my question - do we need white uniforms? I would do teal at home, purple on the road. Kinda like the Lakers, which do yellow/purple. Also, would make it easier when doing the throwbacks, so that it's still teal. Would love to be different like that.

imo, the question is whether to use our one Mexican slot for a back-up point guard in Gutierrez or do you take MexiCat and have Batum run the offense when Kemba sits.

I didn't like including Ben Gordon (and Taylor, to a lesser degree) either. Maybe, I should have went with Jorge and acted like Raja Bell (born in the Virgin Islands) is hypothetically from another country.

but other than that there's an abundance of bigs to choose from. you can make a case for guys like Magloire, Brezec, even Boris Diaw maybe. they don't really have a place on the roster, though.

Even Radmanovic probably should be counted as of the same nationality as Divac. You seemingly need him as a SF, though. If I did this 100% correctly, you would have to replace Divac with some other center (probably Magloire).

The torture chamber that was the original coliseum parking lot.

I also vividly remember Alonzo Mourning's first made basket - it was a 'no, no, no...yes!' moment as I don't think anyone knew he had a mid range game (yet).

- It would take an hour to get from Tyvola and South Blvd into the parking in the very early years of Hornets.
- Sneaking into Crown Club after games
- My autographed Ralph Lewis poster
- Working in the locker room a couple of times during 89-90 season, took some shots on court pre-game
- Worked one night selling peanuts in stands, charity for a school group. Think I sold 3 bags all night. Oops.
- The night Tripucka cried after game at halfcourt during interview
- My buddy throwing up a hot dog in the concourse
- Same buddy bleeding on a seat due to hemorrhoids. LOL. TMI.
- Taking day off work to play SimCity2000 when I found out about Bobby Phills
- Running around the house when we moved up to #3 in Baron Davis lotto
- Friend got flat tire at game, we drove from Charlotte to Boone on spare tire in middle of night to get back for classes

super random and hard question for the Horncats history heads. any chance anyone remembers whether Raymond Felton did that top of the key spin move before the Larry Brown era or was that indeed something Brown introduced as an apparent point guard signal to the Bobcats?

then I'm not imagining things.

I was just watching a random 80s Spurs game and noticed Johnny Dawkins doing it. Who's the coach? Larry Brown, of course. Instantly remembered Felton doing it. Although I have moreso hazy memories of that, and much better recollection of it driving you guys crazy. Up to the point that it's part of this board's lore.

Cannot imagine anything else than it being some sort of way of play-calling signal. Tempted to reach out to him and ask.

I've made my feelings about Larry Brown known throughout the years. I ranked him as by far the worst coach in the history of the organization which is saying something. many point to that 2010 playoff run, but that team was very talented with a bunch of guys in their prime and built to win now thanks to Larry Brown completely mortgaging the future for his pet projects. And then he got completely thoroughly Out coached in that series versus the Magic. His meddling and tinkering and demanding trades for certain players Set this franchise back so far and led to the dark years in 2012. Not only that but he just straight up quit on the team in the first month of the 2011 season. And that's what he does when he doesn't get his way he cries like a baby and then just quits. He's one of those coaches that can squeeze some instant results out of a roster before completely destroying a team and then blaming everyone but himself. look No further than the 2004 Olympics as evidenced to how horrible of a coach he is. Basically in summary I can't stand the dude.
