The Bucks are laughably thin at center and power forward. It was brought up earlier, but simply playing Giannis at the 5 doesn't necessarily fix things since you'll have to play someone at power forward. Is swapping in Mirza or Wilson at PF better than Henson or Thon at C? Maybe, but neither option is great.

I'm terrified. There's no way they can be planning on this roster. Unless they are. That would suck.

Well I've been hoping for Giannis C mins anyway so that should cover some of it. Keep henson's head on straight and you could be ok. But mostly I'm assuming they're looking anywhere to trade Delly or Telly for a competent big, hoping for Lopez somehow. In the meantime I'd assume a Joel Anthony type will be there for depth.

Sure. But if your center rotation is Giannis/Henson/Thon, the Boogies of the world are going to drop 60 on you. I expect a move for an actual full-sized center, even if he's a stiff like Joel Anthony.

Trade DJ and Jabari to get rid of Henson and Mirza for expirings like Okafor. Restructure Delly's contract so 9 mil from 2018 go towards a 5th year in exchange for a no-trade clause. The Bucks or the Players union lobby to get dead money like Hawes and Sanders not to count towards the cap sheet. Then I think we have enough.

In the new CBA can you sign/trade Jabari to them in the offseason? LBJ opts in, then we trade them Jabari, some firsts, etc. Like the CP3 situation this year. I know you could in the past but not sure now.

I say do it this year as the expirings happen by 2018

Well Cavs won't do it midseason unless LBJ makes it a demand, which he won't do PR-wise. And you can't sign Jabari right now anyway so you don't have him available to trade now (plus his 20-25 mil salary to matchup). And you can't negotiate with LBJ now to know if he wants to be here

His expiring was a good asset. I think Bledsoe for Greg and a 1st is worth the gamble.
Wish Bledsoe the best.
Next target ... D.Cousins !!!
Go Bucks.

You're way off base about this, but that's nothing new. He was easily the team's 2nd most valuable player last year and this one he was playing thru an injury before they decided he needed to sit to recover. They missed him when he was off the court last year and the healthy version this year in his absence or presence. The Bucks are probably worse in a few weeks than if Greg returned, provided there is no quality center replacement in the interim. There is a lengthy track record with John and Thon is bad right now, while having the realistic upside as a role player. He's probably an energy, bench big in the end. You bought into the highlight video fluff.

I was tied up at work for most of the morning, and just got caught up on the thread. I absolutely love this trade. There is a real risk, but we got a borderline all-star that fills a huge need for a guy that wasn't coming back, and a protected 1st. A healthy Bledsoe should do wonders for our offense.

First, I'm guessing this is highly illegal in the CBA. Second, Delly's play is already a built-in no-trade clause.

Well let's remember all GSW has for Cs is Zaza and McGee and somehow they do ok against the Memphis, NOP type teams. But yea I totally agree another legit big body is coming in somehow. I'd guess Joel Anthony type in place of Liggins for now, while they try to find a trade that works with Mirza or Delly.

KOQ type would be plenty as well.

Definitely feel bad for Greg, watching that video. He was really bought in here and wanted to be in it for the long haul. He was good after his first year, when healthy.

But there are a lot of worse things in the world. He's making 20 million per year and playing bball for a living, in large part because he's so big. For almost everybody it's worth it being a nomad during this time. They can find a place to rest their head for 50 years subsequently.

I think Malcolm is a better player than Greg.

This year. Last year he wasn't per my eye, and that was reinforced by the advanced stats.

How come Malcolm is above Greg in every advanced stat ranking then (this year and last year) ...
