Main thing is, it looks like we have an actual GM and we're making efforts in the right direction.

Exactly. If even Bledsoe's meniscus falls out of his leg and starts flopping around on the court in the first quarter on Friday this was a good trade objectively. From a process-oriented viewpoint, this trade has already been won, it's like how you can't blame the FO for drafting Jabari instead of Embiid, because it was the objectively best decision at the time and only in hindsight can you call it into question.

Or pay the tax. But yeah combining Jabari and say Telly to get an upgrade around the trade deadline and lose salary to a team under the cap.

Something like Rolo? (ducks)

This is a team that sells off draft picks. Don't see us going over the tax. Honestly, I probably wouldn't either if I was the owner. Don't think he helps us that much to lose that much money. I'm a greedy bastard, though.

Bledsoe is not Brandon Knight LOL...

Defense
Knight is one of the worst defenders on his position. He was clowned by half the league.
Bledsoe is actually the first player we can put on explosive guards and not get completely destroyed since Giannis' draft....
He is also a great matchup to key guys of playoff teams we can't guard at all for years.
Rose/IT, Kemba, Wall, Kyrie etc

Driving
Giannis with just his precence can create not only wide open shots in which Bledsoe can actually hit a decent amount but also opportunities to drive at the basket in which Bledsoe can actually finish or get the foul. I still can't forget the massive amount of times Knight has driven with the ball only to lose the layup or flop to get a call.

Vision.
Bledsoe is nothing spectacular but he can actually make a decent pass/lob. He has at least Khris level vision and much better passing skills. Both Brogdon and Delly suck at this. Knight couldn't/wouldn't even make a pass in transition..
GHOSTofSIKMA wrote: I think that we will do worse than last season and that Giannis is now just a mere all star. All because we switched from Bud to Griffin.

Well done. I love how Hammond’s phone is the old dial version and Horst’s is the newer cordless, but still outdated phone.

Slightly debatable on if Embiid now is better than a healthy Jabari. You didn't know how lingering Embiid's foot would be. It's close to worst case scenario and he was still worth the wait.

pretty sure going into the new arena the Bucks ownership group would be happy to pay Jabari and the tax for one season to keep the hype-train rolling, and increase season ticket sales.

This is a BIG. DEAL.

Since we cannot trade a pick in B2B drafts we cannot trade any picks until 2023 now. I think everyone would acknowledge the likelihood of the pick being the 2020 pick so we could trade the 2022 at that point, but not until then.

Which means no dumping the Telly/Delly salary. It means Jabari's future is really up in the air or that ownership is committed to paying tax. It means it is going to be tougher to bring in a C that can bang with big boys.

Added talent while not really giving up much value in return is pretty pretty pretty good GMing.

Hopefully the change can be a good thing for Bledsoe.

Trade puts a ton more pressure on Kidd and the coaching staff which I'm all for. I think he should go immediately but If we don't look like a legit good team by the end of the season there's no reason why he should stick around.

From what I've read, he had it repaired in 2011, then a second surgery in 2014 to have it removed.

Bledsoe previously tore a meniscus in his right knee and had it repaired in 2011. A surgery to remove the damaged meniscus in 2014 sidelined him for more than two months at almost the same juncture of the season as this injury. Then, Bledsoe missed games from Jan. 2 to March 10.

I believe they'd be able to trade it surrounding the conditions to PHX. As in if in a year it's owed to PHX if #10-16, we could then trade it it lands elsewhere. But maybe I'm wrong. If not, maybe it's best that they underachieve this year and get it out of the way, as long as we also get a new coach in the process due to the underachieving. Have you guys seen something definitive from a good source?

Well you can, it just has to be on draft night.

No, they can't do that, because they could end up being on the hook for 2 in a row.

Meniscus removal is definitely something that happens; I had the lateral in my right knee taken out. So maybe it was just a portion for him and the report didn't specify. It'd have to be pretty ****** to justify taking the entire thing out. But whether partial or whole, I have to imagine the physical is/was a lengthy evaluation.

But you could couch the conditions around *when* the pick is conveyed to Phoenix.

DWade had his removed while he was at Marquette. Its not ideal and it can shorten a career, but its not the end of the world.
