The NFC looks like the more superior conference.

3 missed FG's, We came one penalty short of tying our franchise record for penalties. Our defense inexplicably gets beat over the top on the final drive (no Earl hurt). Horribly play calling in the first quarter leading to yet another pathetic start for our offense. Wilson doesn't spike the ball with about 16 seconds left and in long FG range.
I could go on, but what's the point?
Blair Walsh.
Somewhere, ViQueens fans are having a good laugh at your expense.
I can see missing one, *maybe* two, but three? It changed the complexion of the game.
Oh well, we honestly deserved to lose this one. We flat out beat ourselves.
A couple of weeks ago when Bailey went down, I made the comment on another board that I've been making for years which is "if you have kicker problems, you have a serious problem". Dude made a comment that "kickers are a dime a dozen". Right.
If the Seahawks aren't at the front of the Mike Nugent line when Bailey comes back and he is released then shame on them. Walsh has no business in this league.

Kickers may well be a dime a dozen, as in there are plenty of guys who can kick a football. But finding a kicker who can regularly and mechanistically make FG's from anywhere inside 50 and the situation is a far different matter.
I agree. You've got to take the place kicking element seriously. It just factors in too heavily, especially with the extra point being a mid-length FG now.
Honestly, if they found some happy way to remove the field goal/extra point system from football, I'd be all for it. There is no stranger and more significant position in major team sports than the FG kicker. He's not even a football player, really. I know this idea might seem sacrilegious, and is certainly non-traditional, but why have a guy who's not really a football player have so much import? It makes no sense when you really think about it.

Like I said:
Rams win the division, Jared Goff is a top 15 fantasy QB. The Rams are a true up and coming team and with a couple saavy draft picks and free agent moves, they'll be a trendy SB pick going into next year. I think they need some help at DB and I'd definitely try and get some OL depth.. other than that, where are they weak? Once they sign Watkins and really gameplan for him, the team is going to take off.

I still think (could be wrong) that the Seahawks eke out the division title. But the Rams are looking pretty good now. No doubt.

Not to nitpick, but really, Trumaine is a slightly above average #1 CB; Joyner is playing like a top 5 safety right now; NRC is a top slot CB; Kayvon Webster is an average #2 CB; John Johnson has been awesome at safety since taking over the starting job - I think the Rams secondary is a strength, and that's reflected by our pass defense.
As far as OL depth, I don't think any team can sustain losing a top flight LT - but beyond that, we're decent. We drafted quite a few interior linemen three years ago and because of that, we have some backup OL that have some starting experience. Blythe has gone in for Sullivan a few times this year and we haven't missed a beat. But we definitely need the future with Whitworth being 35 and Sullivan pretty old too.
The main weakness here is the running game. It's been really odd watching the games though...aside from one run we shut down Fournette....completely shut down Peterson, who has been pretty good....but Washington gashed us...we held up okay against the Cowboys, considering how great their running game is..
I'd be concerned with teams who focus on the running game, and it just so happens that the other contenders in the NFC can all run the ball well, and we will be playing them all in the next few weeks.
Also, offensively we turn the ball over too much. A few weeks ago we had fumbled more than any team in the NFL.
I definitely think Seattle loses games down the stretch, so I could see the Rams winning the division even if we get swept by Seattle.

I hope you're right, but this game kind of has a Redskins game feel to it for me from week 2. Cousins is obviously better than Savage, but he didn't really beat us. They ran all over us and forced a few turnovers.
Hoping we can continue to play well and get the W, but 12 point spread?? Rams haven't been that big a favorite in a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time and it makes me a little uneasy

We'll have a better idea after Thursday. I have them losing to Arizona. If that happens it'll be a big uphill climb for Seattle.

Vastly.
Right now the Eagles and Rams are playing like the cream of the crop, but the Saints, Vikings and Seahawks are dangerous - as are the Panthers.
I don't think anyone would be surprised if any of those teams represented the NFC in the super bowl.
In the AFC though, it's only the Patriots, Steelers or Chiefs - and IMO it's only the Pats and Steelers.

If we lose to AZ, you deserve the division.

Thursday night weirdness. Once upon a time the Niners nearly beat the Rams. Road team is almost always at a significant disadvantage for Thursday games. Couple that with Seattle's propensity to start slow, and Arizona's defense being able to play well randomly at times, and Peterson running the ball well...
Either way I think it will be a good game

Indeed. If Jerry can keep Zeke from being suspended 6 weeks they are right up there too. Probably number 2 in the NFC at this point.

My boy lol? I'd love to have someone who could step in & replace him. Says alot about the depth on the line. The team should of hung onto Garry Gilliam as the RT. Pocic & Odhiambo are Guards. Not starting calibur Tackles.

Don't worry, Pete Carroll will figure it out.

Yea I knew I was forgetting a team. I wonder which team will fall off and not make the playoffs out of those 7 teams?
I'm not a believer in the Saints defense or the Vikings QB situation, but they seem poised to win their divisions..
