Game Thread 11/7: Pacers vs. Pelicans

Post#1 » by boomershadow » Tue Nov 7, 2017 11:32 am

The New Orleans Pelicans and Indiana Pacers — each with a 5-5 record — will continue to pursue consistency on Tuesday night in Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The Pacers are coming off back-to-back road losses — at Philadelphia (121-110) and at New York (108-101) — during which their inconsistent defense could not contain the 76ers’ J.J. Redick and the Knicks’ Kristaps Porzingis.

New Orleans, on the other hand, began the season 1-3 but comes to Indianapolis having won consecutive road games — 99-94 on Friday night in Dallas and 96-90 in overtime on Saturday night in Chicago’s United Center.

Very dangerous game... Davis and Cousins could destroy us... we cant defend them... how many points we recieved from Cousins last year... 60?

Likely no Sabonis (calf contusion). Jefferson might get some minutes guarding Cousins. Thad is just not big enough.

This is going to be a tough game for us. Especially without Sabonis. We have to keep them off the O rebounds and protect the paint. We must run and spread the floor in order to protect our home court.

This is very interesting game, if we could at least somehow limit their bigs to a degree we got a chance. We also need good ball movement and most importantly we need to drive more and don't settle for all jumpshots, just because they got good bigs. We need to be smart and relentless at same time, we'll see how this goes, can't wait for the game :)

Going to be tough. Have watched the Pels several times this year. You just never know what club is going to show up. If the good Pels show up then it may be a long night for the blue and gold.

It's really sad because Sabonis is a bruiser just like Cousins is. That would be pretty interesting game to watch.

Pelicans do not play up to their potential. Sadly, if no Domas - the task of winning this game gets tougher. Though, last game taught young Pacers team more about what it takes to win. For the start, it takes 48 minutes of the regular time to play smart and 100%.
Pacers need this win, two games losing streak wouldn't look good on early season's resume.
Let's go Pacers! ;)

Let's put this way (new theory). Either Turner or Sabas has to be off for the team to win. This time it's Turner's round to unleash the beast.

Tough matchup, really going to need a big game from our backcourt.

No Sabonis for one game is more depressing than when Paul George missed the whole season.

A rare missed game for Domas. He would be missed, though Pacers have enough to get a W.

Bogdan is shining. He is exactly what Raptors wanted from Ibaka, except Bogdan costs only half for Pacers and being way more effective in floor spacing.

Solomon Hill was very fortunate to play well when he did, especially after Bird and co. declined his player option.

Running out an interesting Joe Young/CoJo/Lance/Leaf/Jefferson lineup right now. Not exactly a combo I've been expecting to see.

Good Lance is here tonight, already has 12. Joe Young also giving us positive minutes.

What a dime by Lance, it's a shame he doesn't play with this energy and focus every night. Oh, and the Pacers have 75 points at halftime.

I think he needs the home crowd and/or an early bucket

The fact that Lance is playing great tonight is so big for this team. It allowed Oladipo to get some good rest and avoid further foul trouble.

Now, Oladipo is gonna have fresh legs he won't need to worry about foul trouble so he can go all out in the second half. Plus, Lance is already in groove and he can keep playing the way he is.
