New Bad Boy Bobby Portis?

Post#1 » by vic » Wed Nov 8, 2017 3:36 pm

There's some guys around the league that are Pistons but don't know it yet.

Obviously Avery Bradley is proving this right now.

Do you think Bower coukd snatch Bobby Portis from Chicago?

Regardless of the fight or if he's crazy or not, he's way mobile, way defensive minded, and an ok shooter. I think he would thrive as a Piston and be the first big off the bench because obviously Tolliver is getting older.

Leuer & Ellenson for Portis?

What would work?
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

He's flat up nuts. To get himself fired up before each game he imagines his opponents slapping his mother.

Portis is still on his rookie deal, so Leuer makes way too much money. Ellenson for him would work straight up. But I wouldn't do that because in the new Center Hub offense the Pistons are running with so far this season, Henry might be a good back-up center in that once he gets used to NBA big man physicality.

I think Chicago trades Mirotic eventually to iron out that situation. Probably for a position other than PF given they have Lauri Markanen as the long term option there.

Our roster is full of high character, mature, unselfish players right now. So no thanks...he's the total opposite of the team culture we've got going right now.

Port is is another stretch PF that would work perfectly here and as a matter if fact his offensive game is complete. Back to the basket, three point shot, and he's a passer. A version of Rasheed. Defensivly he would fit perfectly as well as he's a shotblocker and moves his feet well.

Absolutely perfect fit.

Alas, he's **** crazy so it would be a big gamble. The starting 5(as he should start)would be;

Jackson
Bradley
Harris
Portis
Drummond

That's a killer, and versatile as hell lineup.

Isn't he like 6'11 250 or so? Could probably backup Dre too.

I think that may be giving up too much. Portis value is low right now.

This is who I would want. I think it might take a good amount to get him tho. I think he would get along with everyone and bring some toughness. He would be a perfect PF. Him or Z-bo would be nice, I know SVG is looking at anything he thinks would make them better, I believe Portis would

I think Mirotic is the one who will be out. Portis ceiling is to high to trade low. I would love to have him, guessing Mirtoic kinda deserved the punch, not sure, but looks like a guy that could get on a guy like portis nerves, lol

I know I'm in the minority but I think ten games and a 7-3 record is too early to think about changing the roster.

How is attacking one of your own teammates ANYTHING like the Bad Boys? They were a tight team that loved and stood up for one another. Portis isn't a high character person by any measure.

I wouldn't say yoir in the minority. My post seems like a yes, but I recognize continuity and not being **** crazy as a good thing.

You have to admit his skill set next to Andre is intriguing though.

Portis’ value is greater than zero. Leuer is triple negative
