Monroe was playing PF here next to Drummond. At Milwaukee he was backup center. I think he would be a great fit.

Monroe played out of position here and looked bad doing it. Moose is absolutely not a power forward in todays nba.

Re: Greg Monroe
Monroe left Detroit. We don't know if SVG even made an effort to bring him back. But, I can't see him making one now. Boban is all offense, no defense and can't get off the bench. Monroe's skillet is essentially the same. All O, no D.
I'd be hype as hell if he came back. But, there are better opportunities for Moose out there beyond Detroit. He could go to Brooklyn and get 20 shots a night.

Re: Greg Monroe
Only way i want Monroe is if we acquire him via trade. Hes really the last big expiring this season that we can give up only a pick to get.

Re: Greg Monroe
Likely we need to move Luer/Jackson for someone on a 2 year deal.

No need to move RJ - he's much improved this season

Unless, you personally hate RJ, then he must be included in all trades.

Nobody wanted to play here when Dumars was fired and replaced by weak SVG. Dre only stayed because he got maxed out.
I could see Monroe being traded to Portland or Washington.

I think a deal that would make a ton of sense for both teams would be a trade with LA.
Lakers get Monroe (More caps space next summer)
Suns get Randle + Deng

You would really have to value Randle a lot to do that. Taking on arguably the worst contract in the league with Deng and then have to pay Randle in the offseason.

Re: Greg Monroe
For a team that knows they aren't winning the next year or two, getting a good young player like Randle might be worth it for them. Deng has just 2 seasons left after this one, so next year he is a tough contract to move but the following year he's a valuable asset again in being a big expiring $18 million contract.

Depends on how you feel about his ability to make it to 82 games + playoffs.
I think you have to think of things in a long-term sense.
If we're signing Moose at this point, it's gonna be as a rental.
