Donovan is a terrible coach, he is on Kidd level of crappiness.

Last 3 pages of this thread becoming the bash OKC thread.

I'll be bracing myself for the Bash Celtic moment when we we'll have a losing streak

Don't compare Hou's offense to OKC.

It makes OKC look like a elementary school team.

Why? They run the same garbage chuck offense. It's just that HOU hits their shots. Both are unwatchable.

Not sure I can agree with the Houston take and trust me I am far from a Houston fan. Harden kinda bastardizes the game, but Houston is actually closer to a Lebron style offense than it is OKC's hero ball. A Lebron style offense is largely dependent on one creator getting shots for others, but at least Houston's best player is a much, much better floor general because he's crafty, is capable of running plays like a true point guard...but also able to get others involved much more optimally than Westbrook. And with CP3 coming back, even though you can say as great as he is that he monopolizes the ball and plays it almost too safe.. at least HOuston has relatively high IQ players trying to make it work. They are just a bit too much of a one trick pony (at least before CP3 arrived) compared to versatile teams like GSW or the Spurs.

They cant have 3 shoot first players.

PG can easily be a 3&D player that moves off the ball and focuses on defense. This is who he was before Danny Granger went down. But is this the role he wants to play in his prime?

How in the hell does Abrines play 12 minutes and have 0 field goal attempts.... isnt that the whole reason he's supposed to be out there? Man this offense is so disappointing and its on coaching staff. Put your players in a position to be successful.

Yeah. Not sure how you watch that game and blame him. WB went 6-22 and missed all his shots down the stretch.

There will be plenty of games to blame Melo

This wasn't one of them

Not gonna necessarily disagree with you there, but last year it was the teammates, this year it's the coach. What's next?

Misusing the teamates can be as bad as not having ones. Its a team game.

Thats why you see Spurs for example doing much better despite lacking in terms of individual talent.

Anything that doesn't involve blaming Westbrook for being the exact same player for the past half decade. A generational athlete with an incredible motor that has terrible awareness on both the offensive and defensive end. He's going to end up with a better version of Steph Marbury's career at this rate. He lost his KG and I'm not sure he will ever recover.

Of course he doesent want to do that. He wanted to go to the Lakers and be the #1 option. Hes fully entrenched in the LA lifestyle. He never wanted to get traded to OKC. He is leaving this off season. I know his personality type.

Zero chance he resigns to be a 3rd option and 3 and D player. Zero. He could be the main option in LA and carry them to the playoffs as well as enjoy everything LA has to offer.

Hes gone.

Just out of curiosity, do you live in Houston or the surrounding area?

Underrated aspect of last year's OKC is with Adams, Gibson, Kanter, and Sabonis they could really beat you up in the paint with boards and easy buckets. Now the whole system is your turn or my turn iso. Okc looks like the Knicks offense last year where you have 3 guys taking turns trying to score.

Okay--then maybe you can explain how the teammates are being misused? What do you think Donovan should be doing instead of the status quo?

He obviously doesn't want to simply be a 3&D player in his prime. If the Thunder can only utilize him as a 3&D player then he'll probably leave, yeah.

But is he going to the Lakers? Meh, I don't know. He may go there if LeBron also goes but I don't think he's going to go the Lakers alone.
