I wasn't going to pay attention to the draft this year. Now it might be a good idea.

It has become much easier to watch this team having reached the acceptance stage. The team is trash. The coach is a stooge. One or two of the BIG 3 get outshone every game. Either by Raymond Felton or someone else. Can't hit free throws.

This team can forget about a top 4 seed in the playoffs. That fantasy is over.

This season feels lost already. Donovan needs to be fired, but a new coach would have to make too much ground during a season trying to implement an actual system. There isn't enough time to do that while a season is going on.

This is a wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiild hot take.

Let me ask you this.

Who’s play style fits better with this team? You can flip Westbrook with almost any PG on another contender, and he doesn’t fit in well. He’s a below average defender. He forces shots. He’s a terrible 3-pt shooter and he relies heavily on his athleticism for most of his game. Sure, put the ball in his hands every game all game and get him at a high USG% and great things can happen. And that’s great but if you are trying to win a championship, Westbrook is not your guy. He puts a certain ceiling on this team.

Blame the coach for his best player being a bozo? Coaching was fine the first 3 quarters .

Playing Felton with Westbrook only looks terrible when Westbrook is playing like this. I’d rather play Felton over Abrines and Roberson when we are desperate for scoring so I’m not mad at that move. I was at first, but I’ve thought about it. Felton had the hot hand.

If Donovan wants Felton on the court then he should give him pg responsibility.
Felton should try to run a set or p&r play.
If he cant do much in first 8-10 second then he can give the ball to WB or Melo to play iso or another p&r.

Felton played last 3 minutes and he only shooted one open 3. I like his effort and contribution but having him on defense doesnt help us in clutch minutes. If you need spot up shooter use Abrines. I would give Huestis a shot too. He's better defender than overrated Robertson. Robertson is so good to accompanying the scorer of opponent.

Btw that whole switching disease hurts most. It wont work.
Constantly switching and bringing unnecessary helps.
Our defense broke itself on many occasitions tonight. They dont even need to play complicated sets. Even their 2nd unit got Felton-Plumlee, Adams-Barton like matchups easily.

I would agree to this but Paul George is a really shaky ballhandler. Unfortunately the best ball handler on the team is playing like a knucklehead. So this team appears to be SOL. There is no one trustworthy going down the stretch of a close game.

Only have to up the win% from 36% to 57% the rest of way to get to 44 wins and maybe the 8th seed. 60% win rate improvement.

I don't give a crap about anything right now. It's midnight and I'm wrecked and tired and slightly tipsy and I'm about to fight everyone on the internet. Don't kill each other while I'm sleeping.

No I dont think so.
Fine coach would hold the 10 point lead in first. Too much switches also hurted us from the start.
Bad rotations..

And good coach would convince WB to back off. He played Felton but he couldnt make WB to give the ball to Felton.
WB continue his horrible performance.

Carmelo has been trustworthy along with Felton. George ball handling isn't great but its better than Russ driving into 5 defenders and doing dumb ****.

How exactly should the coach make Russ “back off”?

Donovan is a bad coach because he doesn't hold players accountable. He makes REALLY stupid rotation decisions, but his biggest flaw is that he is just an impotent rube who sits on the sideline and accomplishes absolutely nothing. Can anyone tell me one thing Donovan does better than like a Freg Hoiberg type? They are the same caliber of coach to me. Both are useless and passive.

You could win a championship with Westbrook if some things happened:

He actually gave a **** on defense.
He actually gave a **** off-ball.
He actually gave half a **** about taking smart shots.
He played with a little bit more control.

The he way he’s playing, he just looks so... raw? Is that the word?

The same thing was said about Scott Brooks. Common player is WB. You can't coach a team with this type of point guard.

He's playing his worst ball since his 2nd or 3rd season. He's usually much, much better than this. Something has to give. Too much talent not to get it together by playoff time.

If Russell stops taking the likes of Barkley's advice and stop trying to be the man in the 4th. They'll win. He can be the man by making the hustle plays and getting the loose balls.

He's been terrible recently.
