Our remaining 10 games in November
For the remainder of this month, we have 10 games of which two are against teams above .500 (Boston + Minnesota) and 8 are against teams currently below .500.... This 10 game stretch is one where we need to continue building on being an above .500 team. 6-4 is the absolute worst we should be but 7-3 is also very reasonable. If we're truly going to be a good team this year its very important that we continue to gain ground on some of the middle of the pack teams over the remainder of this month.
Wed Nov 8th vs Indiana (Pacers on a B2B)
Fri Nov 10th vs Atlanta (Hawks have been one of the 2 or 3 worst teams this year)
Sunday Nov 12th vs Miami (This is their final game of a 6 game road trip they might be spent)
Wed Nov 15th @ Milwaukee (Will be interesting to see what type of impact Bledsoe has for them by this point)
Fri Nov 17th @ Indiana (I thought they would be real bad but their new guys have impressed)
Sun Nov 19th @ Minnesota (Third straight road game with very minimal time in the air flying, but likely an L with Butler in lineup)
Mon Nov 20th vs Cleveland (our only B2B remaining this month)
Fri Nov 24th @ OKC (Our longest flight this month, but after 3 days rest)
Mon Nov 27th @ Boston (Likely a loss against a rolling Boston team on the road).
Wed Nov 29th vs Phoenix (Hopefully a gimme at the end of the month, but Monroe has played well against Dre).

The only 2 bad teams in there are the hawks and suns. Just because some top runners have gotten off to a slow start doesn't mean we "should" beat them. OKC? Cavs? They are going to be in the championship hunt. Bucks, pacers, and heat are all going to be in the playoff race. This is a tough stretch of games.

Wouldn't try to predict wins and losses right now. We could fall flat to the Pacers and then destroy Boston for all we know.

Re: Our remaining 10 games in November
A 60% win rate equates to a 6-4 record over any given 10 game stretch and 49 wins for the season. I'd take that and don't care which 10 games it is or which teams they beat.

Re: Our remaining 10 games in November
This right here. I predicted 10-10 for the first 20 as it takes time for new teams to gel figure out rotations and for everyone to settle into schemes and sets.MotownMadness wrote:Wouldn't try to predict wins and losses right now. Way ahead of my schedule but what's notable are the mental mistakes they have been making on simple rotations on defense. This is the reason why they have dropped easy games and won some if the hardest games of the year.
They could just as easily go 3-7 for the next ten. Also remember that Stan is a stubborn Bastard and when Leuer gets back it will once again throw a nickel into the cogs.
This Pistons team should utterly destroy this Pacers team, but 10 games in? Yeesh.
I'm hoping for a convincing win tonight as it will help stabilize this young team after 3 days off and prepare them for this homestand. A win tonight and 5-5 over the next ten is possible. A convincing win and another 7-3 is possible. A loss, well, now we are into where I thought they would be. 3-7 over the next ten, and 10-10 overall.

Anyone know how we travel in situations like the bold?
Do we fly to OKC late on the 20th and stay until late on the 25th then fly to Boston?
Or would we fly from DET to OKC on the 23rd or 24th?
Minor thing but given the time inbetween the CLE & OKC games I'd be inclined to get to OKC as early as possible and rest up
Not exactly a holiday in OKC but there's a opportunity to have some rest days there

Re: Our remaining 10 games in November
There is one important thing to see over the next 10 games. Some teams had a super hot start (Indiana, Orlando, Brooklyn, NYK and us)
Those teams are slowly getting to where they actually should be:
- Orlando has a great record yet but they`ve lost 2 in a row.
- Brooklyn is at the bottom 3 of the east after a ridiculous start.
- Indiana lost 3 in a row.
- NYK is still doing well thanks to Porzingis not sure if they'll sustain it.
It's important that we maintain the good play and a solid record, to prove we are not a fluke. 6-4 would be amazing, we have a lot of difficult games but they're all winniable games.
I think our difference to those teams, who are not sustaining their ridiculously good start is, Drummond FT is for real, and we all knew that would affect his entire game and his confidence. Also reggie has been healthy and playing at a high level again. Tobias is not playing at the MVP level he was at the start of the season but he is still doing great.
We are not like Orlando who had 3 guys hitting insane 3pt% and carrying them, our players actually improved and I think they can sustain that improvement and fight for the 4-6th seed this season or maybe do a good trade at the deadline and do better than that.
Cleveland, Washington and Toronto are going to get better and Philly has been impressive, as people expected, even without Fultz and limiting Embiid's time and not playing him im b2b.

Re: Our remaining 10 games in November
Some tough games on that schedule but I still think they are winnable. We just handled the Bucks and they may still be transitioning into the Bledsoe era when we play them. OKC and CLE look like trash right now so hopefully that keeps when we play them. MIN is clicking but we beat them too so who knows. BOS is just simply overrated.

Boston is exactly the opposite of overrated. That's a good roster and a great coach.

Re: Our remaining 10 games in November
A tough stretch coming up after this home stand. But there are only two teams in the NBA ranked 10th or better on both def rating and off rating. One is the Warriors, the other is the Pistons

Mediocre roster with a great coach imo. Brad Stevens is their MVP.

We should give Ainge some credit here as well. He has done a nice job.

Mediocre roster?
Horford is a quality big
Kyrie is a stud
Tatum, Brown, Smart & Rozier are quality young talents & Baynes is severely under-rated
They lost Thomas, Crowder, AB & KO from their rotation last season and are still winning.
Yeah Stevens is awesome but let's not pretend that they lack talent

You just made my case for me. Irving is a superstar and Horford is pretty good big man. The rest are decent role players. That's the definition of a mediocre roster.

I think you're underestimating Tatum & Brown quite a bit tbh
Smart, Rozier & Baynes are the quality role players and with the versatility of their roster those guys are incredibly valuable

Re: Our remaining 10 games in November
A superstar, a good veteran, two young high picks that have looked good, and at least three bench players that are above-average.
(that's without Hayward, of course)
Man, if that's mediocre, we really suck.

Harris, Bradley, Jackson, and Drummond are all better than the Celtics second best player

Re: Our remaining 10 games in November
Maybe not mediocre but for them to have the best record in the league 12 games in after losing Hayward is really great. Stevens is definitely their MVP.
Optimistic guess is 6-3 over the next 9 with losses against Minny, OKC and Boston. A bad shooting night or hot shooting night from the other team could happen too, but I'd be surprised if we lose more than 4.
