I couldn’t have been more wrong about Kara. She’s a great analyst.

You got VC and Nique Wilkins wanting to chat with Kara after the games

Atleast we Wiz fans have a gem here like we do with Phil

I can’t stand her. She’s ridiculously boring.

Both of our commentators sound like they want to jump off a bridge. Buckhantz due to decades of insanity, and Lawson providing cyclical analysis of why we’re awful.

I enjoyed the comaraderie between Buckhantz and Chenier.

I listened tonight for the first time in a while, I enjoyed her too. Her voice is great and she's smart. I don't ask for much more.

Really?

I thought Chenier was pretty boring. He rarely made any insightful comments and never seemed to utilize his experience as a player to help describe to listeners what is really going on. He's a nice guy with a silky smooth speaking voice, but he's a below-average analyst. I did enjoy his chemistry with Buck though.

And it's hard for me to criticize Kara for being cynical. What human being could possibly avoid cynicism while watching this team play? I think Kara is very insightful without being condescending or mean spirited.

What exactly would a competent analyst be saying about the Wiz right now? There isn't actually that much to analyze. The awfulness hits you full in the face. Or maybe that was the Atlanta Hawks. Either way, it's splitting hairs at best.

As a proud graduate of the Phil Chenier & Dave DuPree Basketball Camp, I'll never speak ill of Phil. It took me a while to get used to Kara, in part because of my comfort level with the old broadcast team. But I've definitely warmed up to her. And, frankly, a TV product centered around a team this dysfunctional has benefitted from a fresh perspective on commentary.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

And the worst thing a commentator can be is a homer - that's unlistenable to me anyway, and unfortunately, Phil was often that guy. Otoh, he built up so much good will that he could get away with it. Honestly, I think Lawson is as upbeat as is possible and still show some objectivity. She was particularly good about analyzing Oubre - not ignoring his low IQ plays and actually being honest about them - while Buck's been a flaming Oubre fan. And she'd explain the good, as well. She'll sometimes over praise the lesser Zards who come off the bench (especially Mike Scott last season), but I think it's because she understands their limitations and doesn't hold them to as high standards. Overall, I think she's very good and a keeper.

Seeing how this team plays and how the organization runs would make anybody want to jump off a bridge.

When I see her I see someone who seems willing to be honest.
Except no one in the Wizards broadcast media will point out
Ernie is 23rd/30 in winning %age during his tenure as GM.

PS - I've started to post fire Ernie everytime FB supplies me
with a Ticketmaster or Wizards ad. It's starting, perhaps slowly,
to catch on.

Phil was like a comfortable old pair of slippers -- I mean that in the most positive way. He was great.

But I agree w/ the general sentiment here that Kara Lawson has been really really good!

Very nice. I didn't realize she was such an accomplished player - former 5th pick in the WNBA draft.
