Julius Randle?

According to Woj, he's not in the Lakers long term plans. He's even been playing some small ball center. He's nasty

Nevermind. We have no expirings to help them out especially if they're trying to get rid of Deng as well. Moving on ;)

Pretty sure we could have him for our first round pick this year if we wanted him

Monroe's expiring for Randle + Deng makes a ton of sense for both teams.

He'll get extended to probably what Leuer and Boban make combined. If we can dump them then I would be alright with it I guess.

I like him a lot, he's been playing well as small ball center and he plays with a lot of energy, however because of his contract and our financial situation we can't really get him. Sadly. We are fine with Moreland and Boban as backups imo tho.

It would cost us a draft pick for sure and we'd have to get a third team involved.

Leuer + Draft pick out
Randle In

Lakers
Randle out
Expiring contract in

3rd team
Expiring contract out
Leuer + Draft pick in

I think the plan is to use Randle to dump Deng for expirings. It could be a tough sell because Randle will be looking for 17M a season next year so any team trading for the package will be adding $35M+ to their payroll next year.

We absolutely cannot take on Deng, CGC. We have way too many future financial obligations to take on that contract.

He plays like Kenyon Martin if anyone knows who that is. Kenyon was a good defender, mid range shooter, jumps outside the gym. Played with Jason Kidd in New Jersey Nets.

I totally agree. The only way I see my deal is possible is if we stretch him in the 3rd year.

No. The team is 8-3. Leave it alone.

We really don't have anything appealing to them that would work salary-wise.

I'd be fine with a trade for him if it didn't cost the team much. But, I can't say he's anything to get really excited about. Unless he develops a 3-point shot, he's probably a career bench player in the current NBA.

Randle is averaging 11.5 PPG and 6.3 RPG shooting a very efficient 61% from the floor in just 18.8 MPG this season. His PER 36 numbers are insanely good I do get the comparison to KMart if he was with a good PG who could create for him. His value is lower right now because he is a FA about to get paid and most people know he isn't in the Lakers plans next summer because they want to swing for the fences. I would be really happy to have Randle on this team between Dre and Tobias in the front court but I know its just not possible.
