Orlando Magic PR‏ @Magic_PR
Nikola Vucevic (24), Evan Fournier (23) & Aaron Gordon (21) all had 20+ PTS & shot 50%+ from the floor last night vs NY. Was 2nd time this season that ORL had 3 players do that in a game. The only other team in @NBA to do it is GS, who also did it twice (@EliasSports)

John Denton @JohnDenton555
If @OrlandoMagic beat @Suns tonight in Phoenix, it would be the first time in franchise history that they have started the season with three straight wins on the road vs. teams from the Western Conference. They've won in New Orleans & Memphis already this season.

John Denton @JohnDenton555
An @OrlandoMagic win tonight would make them 4-0 vs. the Western Conference. They’ve beaten Spurs, Pelicans & Grizzlies so far. It would tie the franchise’s best start to a season vs. West (any location). ORL last opened season 4-0 vs. West in 2004-05, per Stats Inc.

``We like playing on the road because it’s just us out there,’’ a brazen Gordon said stone-faced without a blink. ``We have to come together as a team, it’s on us and we have to make our own energy. And it’s fun silencing crowds.’’

``There’s no better feeling than going into somebody else’s arena, getting the win and shutting up the crowd. I think guys on this team like that challenge,’’ Payton said. ``This (stretch of the schedule) is very critical, but I think it’s a chance for us to prove ourselves and what kind of team we’re going to be. I think guys are up for this challenge and trying to prove that what we did early in the season wasn’t a fluke and we can play.’’

“We’re going to have to find the energy in Phoenix," said swingman Evan Fournier. "We want to play .500 basketball on the road this season. So it’s going to be a challenge, but we’re going to have fight.”

We’ve got to be ready for this stretch playing on the road," Vucevic added. "It’s not easy, but I feel like this team does like to play on the road.”

Charles Barkley:
I'll tell you what, boy. Kevin Johnson's rolling over in his grave watching these Suns play.
Ced Ceballos is rolling over in his grave.
Dan Majerle's rolling over in his grave.
Frank Johnson's rolling over in his grave watching these bums in Phoenix.
Look at them empty sets, man. The best fans in the world get to watch this trash.
They keep inviting me to games, too, Kenny. Like what the hell? Why would I wanna go watch that?
Why did you get all excited when they made that run, Ernie? You know they're gonna lose. I've seen this movie.

Josh Robbins ✔ @JoshuaBRobbins
Suns center Tyson Chandler will not play tonight against the Magic because of back spasms, Phoenix interim coach Jay Triano said.

THIS DATE IN MAGIC HISTORY – NOVEMBER 10…

November 10, 1999 – Pat Garrity paced the Magic while shooting a near perfect 10-of-11 from the floor, tying a then career-high
25 points, as Orlando held off Allen Iverson and the Sixers, 110-105. Iverson dropped a game-high 46 for Philadelphia, with 36
of his points coming in the second half, the record for most points scored by an opponent in a half against the Magic.

November 10, 1995 – The Magic sign free agent Joe Wolf, who became an O-rena favorite. Each time Wolf scored or grabs a
rebound, the crowd let out a wolf howl.

This is a must win looking at the upcoming schedule. I'm expecting AG to have a huge game.

Payton still isn’t completely healthy. After the win over New York, Payton acknowledged that his hamstring is “still pretty tight.” “But I’m out there, bro,” he said.

Josh Robbins ✔ @JoshuaBRobbins
Elfrid Payton's left hamstring remains sore. Magic coach Frank Vogel said, "It's still a concern. He is going to give it a go unless I'm told otherwise upon his pregame warm-ups."

Just have to come out and bring energy on both ends of the floor especially on defense last game they were kind of sloppy. Hopefully Elf's hammy holds up and he can stay playing on this trip. We have to make sure to take care of business on this trip against the teams we can beat.

From the Ringer...

In or Out: Aaron Gordon Is the NBA’s Most Improved Player.

Chau: In. OK, in his first three seasons, Gordon shot the 3 at a worse clip than Derrick Coleman did over the course of his career. So far this season, Gordon would be the third call I’d make for the 3-point contest behind Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. I’ve been waiting for his 3-ball to fall off since after his first game of the season—and he only went 1-for-2 that night. It hasn’t happened. Gordon is sitting on a 57.5 percent on 4.4 attempts per game. The percentage-point differential between this season and last (28.7) is almost the same as his career percentage from 2014-15 to 2016-17 (28.9). If this hot streak holds—or even if his percentage free falls 20 percentage points—it will be one of the most astonishing transformations in recent memory. It caulks almost every crack in Gordon’s game. I’m in. I’m extremely in.

Gonzalez: In. The Aaron Gordon we saw over the last month or so of last season is the Aaron Gordon we’ve seen in the first few weeks this season. The guy is making nearly 58 percent of his 3s. Plus, he’s rebounding and scoring and moving the ball, and he’s averaging almost a block and a steal per game. I have no idea what the Magic did with the old Aaron Gordon, but they should keep this new version.

Tjarks: In. Aaron Gordon won't shoot 57.5 percent from 3 all season, but he doesn't need to. As long as he can make 3s at a league-average rate, he has an almost indefensible combination of size, speed, and ball-handling at the power forward position. The Magic have been waiting years for Gordon to learn how to shoot, and all of the pieces start to make a lot more sense in Orlando if Gordon is spacing the floor and averaging 20 points a game.

Uggetti: In. In terms of value added, Aaron Gordon has been like mixing in marshmallow into a sweet potato casserole. In other words, the addition of a 3-pointer has taken his game to a whole other level. Athleticism, which Gordon exudes, can only take you so far. Tack on consistent shooting, however, and it will lead you to the promised land.

Me and DJ almost exactly the same age. I turn 30 on the 16th.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Another classic trap game? Does this game qualify as That? A team we should probably beat that has lost 3 or 4 straight and isn't playing there best basketball. Some no name with almost certainly go off on us tonight, Or booker will drop 40. If we can shoot the ball well and not play there ugly chuck shoot helter skelter brand of basketball we should be able to pull this one out. As long as the team that played the bulls & Celtics don't show up. We tend to play better basketball on the rode specifically on the West coast and I'm not sure why but hopefully it helps tonight. Go magic

Just rest EP and get him back healthy. We are gonna suck without him but its better then risky long-term health.

Its crazy to think that this team had Dragic, Bledsoe, an IT as their point guards at one point and now are only left with Brandon Knight.

Phoenix is bottom 5 in offense AND defense, but No. 2 in pace.

Much like with the two games against Brooklyn, I think if the Magic can avoid a huge amount of turnovers, they should be able generate enough really good looks offensively to win a high scoring, uptempo game.

My prediction - Magic 117, Suns 110

Return to Orlando Magic
