Your Miami Heat finishes the road trip in Detroit, Michigan, looking to extend their win streak to a season leading 3 games. The Pistons, one of the hottest teams in the NBA, have a 4-game winning streak (after their win against Atlanta Friday night.)

Detroit is 16th in scoring (Heat are 22nd), 14th in assists (Heat are 20th), 21st in rebounds (Miami 17th), 12th in offensive rebounds (Miami 27th), 10th in 3 point pct (Miami 20th), 17th in 3 points attempted (Miami 9th), 9th in field goal percentage (Miami 15th). Pistons are lowest in blocks (Miami 8th) but fourth in steals (Miami 12th). They make very few turnovers (14.3 versus Miamis 16.9 per game.)
Stan Van Gundy is their coach, one of my favorites.
The Pistons have a backcourt of Avery Bradley and Reggie Jackson. Langston Galloway, Luke Kennard, and Ish Smith come off the bench. Their forwards are Tobias Harris and Reggie Bullock with Anthony Tolliver, Eric Moreland, and Henry Ellenson providing backup. Andre Drummond and Boban Marjanovic are the centers.
Harris, Bradley, and Jackson lead the team in points scored. Drummond leads the league in rebounds at the moment. Remember Whiteside edged him out last season? Not this year. Drummond leads the league 15.2 per game compared with Goatside’s 12.0. His 4.9 ORBs per game is second to DeAndre Jordan’s 5.4. Whiteside has 3.
Miami has a 55-50 advantage in regular season games and a 10-6 advantage in the postseason. Miami has won 2 series and Detroit 1. We’ve played some tremendous games against the Pistons in our history. For the 2005 and 2006 conference finals alone, they are a worthy rival.
Miami has a two-game winning streak with Detroit.
We are 25-29 in Detroit in regular season games.
We are 3-4 in playoff games.
It’s pussy time.
