I really think the Bucks missed out on not trading for Ty Chandler. I think he is another piece of would have helped a ton. Very good vet very good player in the later stages still but the man competes in a playoff setting he would pay dividends . Wonder if they even wanted him they're dumb if they didn't.

I'm sure all teams have some semblance of interest. If we do buy him out, I imagine he'll find his way to Golden state. That's where I'd go if I were him. Get a ring and showcase what you still have. Then sign with whoever pays the most this summer
The last place he'd be able to showcase himself is GS. They don't need offense from their center, but defense and a rim protector. A team like Brooklyn could probably use him if he signed for the minimum. They start Mozgov. I'm sure there are others. There really are only a few teams with cap space this summer though. Maybe if Noel leaves Dallas he goes there, though they may want Brook Lopez if he leaves LA.

The thing about playing Monroe is that he is injury prone. So if you play him and he gets injured, then you're screwed. I think McD is trying to move him as soon as possible in order to avoid this.
Wouldn't mind seeing him suit up, but if he is really not interested in staying then he will just be taking playing time away from guys who really need it (Chriss/Bender).
I really don't see what the hold up is on an Okafor deal. Philly says they just want a second rounder, we have plenty of picks... must be about roster spots at this point, hence why DSJ is bouncing around between G-league and the main roster.

I think the bucks probably did have interest in chandler but I'm guessing the suns didn't want any of the contracts back to make it work.

But I guess if a team offers a crap load more, you really need to do what's best for yourself and family. Even if it means being in a cruddy situation.
Actually not. It would put the Suns at a disadvantage in signing him. Money will Trump "I had a good time with that team" every time.

As we saw in the game last night, Monroe would add a lot. He would be the third scoring option behind Book and TJ. This team would win more with Monroe at C. I am just not sure McD is ready to take that step yet.

Re: Season Speculation, Trade Ideas & Discussion Pt. 3
“He’s a closer,” Chandler said. “And he’s only going to grow better as a closer. He’s only going to grow more as a leader. You see glimpses and flashes of what he’s going to be doing on a consistent basis night-in and night-out.”
“I feel like he’s been maybe our most consistent (defensive player) as far as effort factor and trying to do what coaches are preaching out there and really sticking to defensive principles,” Chandler said.
Would Chandler have said that last season?
“No,” he replied. “I think he grew up a lot this summer.”
“After the couple of losses we had (giving up at least 125 points to Miami and Orlando), we were looking for an answer and the answer was effort,” Booker said. “Coach said, ‘Win, lose or draw, we’re coming in here at the end of the game and the only box we have to check was effort.' They played really hard, but we matched their intensity.”
The Suns also welcomed back Chandler, who had missed the last two games with back spasms. It wasn’t a coincidence, said interim coach Jay Triano, that Phoenix’s defense made a marked improvement with Chandler on the floor.
“Alex (Len) can only do it so many times without being fatigued or in foul trouble,” Triano said. “The anchor back there is the guy who communicates to everybody and Tyson is a great communicator with a lot of experience. He probably doesn’t have the same bounce that he used to have, but he’s still a valuable guy to have back there.”
“When I’m playing off the ball, teams have a chance to deny me with pin downs or the big helps,” Booker said. “With the ball in my hands, it frees me up a little more and I’m able to see the open man.”

A beast low post scoring big would add to Booker and Warren I think. At least Monroe can catch (old stone hands cant) and finish dish offs down low through contact better than Len. Can he be worse at defense or rebounding than Alex is? Tired of watching Lens ass get pushed all over the floor, this is wht I like Chandler over him, adds stability down low and if we aren't going to be signing Alex after this, I say we trott Ty out there and Monroe off the bench till someone gets traded.

Exactly. You would also have to either sit or deal Alex (with his permission), and then there's Big Sauce to think about in a couple months.
Monroe might actually be a pretty good fit here, but, in addition to the quandaries that presents for this season, (1) re-signing him would probably mean moving Tyson, (2) it's pretty clear that we prefer to man the 5 spot with a draftee pretty soon and (3) Monroe would not come cheap.
Whereas the Bucks were clearly looking to trade Moose for additional young talent to aid the Freak (which they did), we would be looking to trade him in order to acquire an additional long-term asset or two. We've discussed this - the prime target would be a pick or two attached to dead money that extends one and only one year beyond Monroe's deal. The Nets were able to trade their Moose, together with the #27 pick in last year's draft, for D'Angelo and a deal that extended for TWO additional years. Can we get a lesser but still significant asset by clearing space for another team? The ideal team would be one that (1) needs to clear space next season, (2) has a big contract or contracts that expire(s) in 2019 and (3) would also like what Monroe can bring as a player this season - a competitive team.
What would we need in order to pull the trigger on a deal for Dwight Howard? I could see the Hornets being interested in dealing him for Monroe or Chandler, and possibly Dudley, perhaps with DJJ thrown in. We would have to buy him out, though, because that dude cannot be around our young players. Depending on the deal... a first a two seconds? Two firsts??
JR Smith and draft stuff for Monroe? This would mess with our 2019 plans. Honestly, I can't see a deal with the Cavs for Shumpert or anyone else ATM, because I would want one of their own or BKN's pick this season (depending on the deal), and it appears that FO is already preparing for the rebuild.
Monroe and DJJ for Lance Stephenson, Al Jefferson and a 1st? Don't know if IND wants to mess with a good thing by inserting another rotation player; don't think a 1st is worth $13 million. Plus it would be wise of Indy not to put too much stock in their strong start.
That's all I got this morning. I think CHA presents some interesting possibilities.

I think the Hornets are happy with Howard. Gotta remember, Charlotte needs to sell tickets too and as long as they're in the playoff hunt and Howard isn't a detriment, they have no reason to trade him. He's putting butts in seats and helping them sell merch.

I think you may underestimate the importance of what Chandler brings, that Monroe or Dwight probably wouldn't. Not only does he have a relationship with the young players, but just directing them defensively on the court while they grow, as mentioned by Triano in the quote NTB just posted.
The Suns also welcomed back Chandler, who had missed the last two games with back spasms. It wasn’t a coincidence, said interim coach Jay Triano, that Phoenix’s defense made a marked improvement with Chandler on the floor.

I don't think you can measure his impact on the court and in the locker room by looking at the box score. I think as this team grows, Chander is important and that at least through this year it is important. If we get another young C next year, it would be nice to have Chandler around for that last year for him and Sauce. But at least through this year I think helps guys like Book, Chriss and Jackson a ton. Probably everyone.

Monroe isn't injury prone at all. He's missed 17 games since 2012-13 (besides games this year). He isn't a high impact player which IMO minimizes his chances for injury. He barely jumps, he just has really amazing footwork. I would welcome Monroe to the bench as we could need a go-to scorer in the post.

Unless the Suns were not offering but adding Teletovic and Chandler to the deal made a helluva lot of sense to me. In fact, I offered that type of deal

If the Cavs want Monroe - they need to take Chandler. Frye and Shumpert is not doing it for just Monroe. Why would the Suns take on debt when they can buyout Monroe now. Sadly, the only trade that makes sense is Chandler/Monroe for TT and Frye or Love Fry

Re: Season Speculation, Trade Ideas & Discussion Pt. 3
How about trading for Jordan Clarkson? His role on the team has been reduced, he's only getting 21 minutes a game however he has been more efficient shooting 50% and 40% from 3. I'm not sure what I would give up, but I imagine the Lakers would like the salary cap space if we just traded Monroe. Or we could offer up Dudley or Chandler as they have one less year on their contract than Clarkson, we'd likely have to give up hopefully just a 2nd rounder.
Clarkson is more of a combo-guard, but I think that would benefit Booker some.

Am I the only one that doesn't want to trade Tyson or Dudley? I know they are shells of their former selves but I don't think their contributions are tangible. I think those two are a big reason why this team is playing better post-Watson.

You have to take Deng's contract when you make a trade with Lakers. Clarkson, Randle, Zubac, Larry Nance Jr. doesn't matter.

Am I reading this right? Do people really want us to trade multiple 1sts for Dwight Howard just to buy him out and also trade for Jordan Clarkson (whose advanced stats have never lived up to Laker hype, let alone an average player).
