Celtics need a backup point guard that will push the pace and open things up for the young guys. Marcus Smart doesn’t push the pace and then dribbles the air out of the ball. Usually leaving the Celtics horrible shots with little left on the time clock.

If Ainge could find a better backup point guard I think the Celtics offense would look completely different.

Dwayne Casey is not exactly a great coach but he has gotten the best of Brad Stevens many times.

He’s certainly no low energy Jeb out there.

Smart's drives literally don't produce anything. He just dribbles into the paint and turns it over.

Yeah it doesn't seem possible. But we got 11 more shots up than them that quarter.

6 more offensive rebounds, 3 less turnovers. The grit and balls advantage stats.

I'm also shocked Tatum missed that corner 3. He's automatic with those.

Saw virtually no DHO's in that 2nd quarter. No movement. No Tatum in the post. Lots of standing around. Gotta change that in the 3rd.

Well Raptors have scored at least 4 3’s of pure luck.

Offensively, we played the poorest we have all season. And we're only down 5.

Boston wins by 6.

Celtics offense just god awful in that first half. Morris was abysmal with his lack of ball movement. Defense was pretty good, forced a lot of turnovers. Jaylen has sucked too, defense early was good but after terrible. Marcus Smart surprisingly decent on offense. Tatum was ok. J-Val for them can't guard a chair, I doubt he sees any minutes in the second half.

Not guarding Lowry well at all. He's made some tough ones but you can't let him bomb threes. Make him drive, he's far less effective doing that usually.

This team will play lock down D in the fourth. Hopefully we can pull away and win. But the D will keep the Cs in the game for sure.

Tatum needs to hit his shots in the 2nd half. I expect him to play better like last game.

I really hated that foul by Smart on Lowry the first play of the game. Things like allowing a player to shoot 3 free throws right out of the gate gets their confidence and rhythm going after struggling a bit the previous games.

Agreed, we did this really well in the first and it was producing decent looks. Then the second unit came in and somehow Smart forgot that gameplan.

Most of our points in 2nd qtr came out of luck, forced TOs and/or someone producing something out of nothing with shot clock running out. Offense was too stagnant, TOR defenders barely moving/scrambling, easier to collapse on drivers.
