Jones and Jackson also both have the athletic ability, quickness and defensive prowess to slide to the sg. Spot in big lineups when Booker runs point. Jones seems like a very willing defender, love the way he pisssed off Westbrook. Both would be very long and athletic. Could see a tweeter hyper athletic line up of Booker/ Jones/ Jackson/ Bender/ Chriss FLYING around.

Conversations move on from Ulis to Booker so I move it to the Booker thread and now DJJ? I certainly wouldn't compare the two. Booker is a lottery pick who has shown some crazy good moments. DJJ has spent most of the year on the D league until we benched everyone after the ASB to give him some burn. That's the only reason he got any minutes at all. I liked his defensive hustle, but our offense completely stagnates, particularly if it's him out there instead of TJ because he can't really score unless set up at the rim. He didn't hit a 3 for a month after he started playing and only hit 3 all year (2 of them in the last 2 games).

If he turns into ANYTHING, even an end of the rotation 8th or 9th man or even just an end of the bench guy, it will be gravy as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry you feel the need to keep everything in it's own cabinet. I'm simply sticking different data (in the form of different players) to your logic. A player's 3FG% is what it is from the moment he gets into the league, no matter how old he is when he enters, but EFG% is apparently a different story and increases over time - at least, if you're a high draft pick. Undrafted 19 YOs better show something immediately or else!

I admit a lot of doubt into my own process, in part because I change my mind a lot, but moreso because I've been very wrong before, and I know I will be again. 'Tis true for all of us. Every game at the casino is mere mathematics, but luck is essential in all of them.

Loved seeing DJJ defend star PG's last year. A 6'6 wing that can man up players like Westbrook and Curry is going to be very valuable, and give our team a whole new dimension on both sides of the court when we become competitive.

Hope DJJ can develop a respectable 3 pointer this offseason.

Dudley also pointed out that Jones had hit 11 of 14 threes during scrimmages this week.

“Athletically, he’s always been gifted,” Head Coach Earl Watson said. “He’s still athletically gifted above the rim. I feel like he got stronger. The three-point shooting has been phenomenal.”

He has a lot of potential. I've been saying he reminds me of a young ariza. Shorter but more athletic. If he becomes a good 3 point shooter he'll be in the league a long time.

Man. Its all just roses isn't it?

Bender is having great practices.
DJJr is the most improved player.
Ulis is the best player on the court at times.
JJ is becoming a team leader even before he has set foot on an NBA court.

Championship here we come. With this improvement, we can't lose even one game.

Anybody hear anything about Marquese Chriss?

Probably going to have to release him to sign Mike James.

Haha. Leave it to the Suns to hype someone up only to cut him a short while later. Really stupid move, McD. James is awful.

I know we're waiving DJJ for a guy not many posters justifiably liked but I feel like the some posters are commenting like we just waived a diamond in the rough.

Perhaps I've never been as hyped as some posters but damn, we're waiving Derrick Jones Jr...how many super young unproven and ultra-athletic wings do we really need? Great dunker but until the guy has proven on an NBA team that he can contribute in more ways than just dunking the ball, I couldn't care less about the guy. Mike James isn't as good as advertised but let's not make the waiving of DJJ as more than waiving a g-league level player.
