Should the Pacer pick up Mindaugas Kuzminskas

Looks like the Knicks waived him. The Pacers have a roster spot and could use a SF with some size. He's 28 so a 1 year deal for league min just to see if he's got anything. If not when GRIII comes back they can drop him.

If there is no one better. Dude is little bit of everything but nothing spectacular. Though he likes cutting in and not a ball stopper. Lovable chap.
For one season, why not? He costs only 3Mils.

They could make it a 2 year non-guaranteed for the 2nd year. Sometimes those non-guaranteed deals can be used in trades.

I'd expect when GRIII comes back he might be dropped.

There's only a handful of teams with the cap space to waiver claim Kuzminskas $3m contract. It's the Sixers, Suns, Kings, Nets, and Pacers. Celtics could also claim him using their injury exception. Every team except the Celtics will have priority over the Pacers, which is ranked by last season's record.

I wouldn't mind if we do claim him. The Pacers would need to waive someone first though, since we're at the full 15.

Alternatively, he can clear waivers and then every team can sign him.

Do we have enough spots open? If yes then sure.

Still hoping for a better veteran wing to be honest. Maybe they are waiting for Sumner to get healthy so they can finally cut Joe Young.

We're at 14. 15th was Uthoff. Poytress dresses but he's on 2 way.

a claim keeps current contract. After 48 hours without claim becomes free agent. If multiple claims, goes to worst record. Dont know if that means last years or this year's record.

He would be amazing on this team and i kid you not, our team does not have enough defense anyway and he would be great on offense, he can run the floor really good, can shoot, can dunk, can pass (really underrated), good teammate, we're not as talented to pass on someone like him, it's only 3 mil always, i don't see many reasons why not.

What should we do with him? He's 29 and hasn't quality to improve our roster... we are in great tanking mode and is better to see Poytress with minutes than this average veteran guy...

It is in the rumor mill that the Lakers, Bulls, and Hawks are interested in him. I don't know if the presence of Domas would matter if Indiana signs him. Same case for Valanciunas and the Raptors.

I'd really rather have a big man for that last roster spot though.

Oops, you're right. Somehow I thought Wilkins was 15th.

If a team claims him off waivers, then he doesn't have a choice. If he clears waivers then he becomes a free agent and can sign with any team. On paper, he looks like reasonable value for $3m, but who knows if there is something in the background.

More likely Valanciunas himself will be traded and I would be more than happy with this. He just doesn't fit there. Raptors organization is heading to shambleland and there is no one who can save it with their overpaid and inefficient starting players.

3 million seems like a lot of money to kick the tires on a car somebody abandoned on the highway and hope they aren't flat.

This is the Knicks waiving him...the KNICKS. It's not like he is being waived by Golden State or one of the elite teams...it's the Knicks.

I think we should pass, thank you.

The Knicks have a better record than us so far (7-5 vs 6-8) and they beat us in our head-to-head game.

Of those who has a roster spot. The Pacers have a roster spot open as they have 14 regular and 2 of those 2 way deals for Poythress and Sumner.

Personally I think he'll clear waivers.

I don't think I'd claim him off waivers it's not like were talking about some guy that is gonna make a big difference. I was just looking for depth. It's not a big risk to wait and see if he clears then offer him $2 million with $300,000 guaranteed for 2017-18 and the same money $50,000 guaranteed for next year. He could then be a trade chip either at the dead line or next summer.

Knicks couldn't trade him so probably not a chip. still if he clears waivers, offer a small guarantee to make good while GRob out.

We're 12-14 games into the season. When it's all said and done, the Knicks will be within 5 games of us, either ahead or behind. Picking up a player that can't play for a team that is on your level, is usually not going to make your team better.
