I like the Solar Panel more than Locked On. Locked on can get boring sometimes, Eddie House always seems to be MIA, and its a hard listen when that Kellan guy is on his own and has no guest.

Solar Panels is good if you have time (about an hour) as it usually mirrors the different philosophies fans have in terms of win now / be competitive / rebuild, which every opinion seems to stem from now a days.

Hated Chriss, skeptical and doubtful of Len, liked Jackson but hate his shot, believe it will limit him as a pro, love Ulis.

BTW. Unless something changes quickly with Chriss, he is in trouble.

Summary

Jackson ... will be good but only elite if he develops a shot

Chriss ... fat, out-of-shape, winded, fouls too much, doesn't look like elite athlete anymore, can't believe he was eighth pick

Bender ... a lot of people at summer league think he is gonna be a bust, didn't feel like he was anything special, might not meet the expectations of a fifth pick. Might be just an all-around player (glue guy ... high end role player). Shot needs to improve.

They like Booker, Ulis, Jackson
Not sure about Bender
Worried about Chriss

The new SI one is great - Golliver and Sharp SAVAGE Sarver and basically say the Suns need him to sell if they're ever going to get back to glory days. One even suggested Booker work on his exit strategy already!? And they said McD is a terrible GM and the whole Bledsoe drama started last year when they told a healthy Bled to sit, so they could have a better chance at landing one of the top PGs!

A lot of it is...kind of spread throughout. I think he talks about them early. And beware, I was joking.

Yeah, he didn’t even like Chriss when he was voting for the all-rookie teams. I’m honestly not sure if he watches the Suns too much. Either way though, basing an opinion on whether or not they’ll make 3 all star teams is pretty ridiculous, especially when Bender has at least shown flashes that he can become a competent/good player. They’re both super young and need to actually be developed.

Yeah, it seemed pretty clear he hadn't seen Bender much. But to be honest, to see him much you pretty much would have had to watch every minute of every game.

Anyone besides me wish Watson would just go away? There is no one that likes to listen to him more than himself

New one out with Scalabrine on the Vertical.

https://player.fm/series/the-vertical-podcast-with-chris-mannix/former-nba-player-and-the-verticals-nba-analyst-brian-scalabrine

A few minutes in they they speak specifically about Booker and the Suns and how losing seems to be 'accepted' too easily, which I can see. Both like Booker but think he's more in the Kyrie model than the KD/LeBron alpha dog role.

We need a new culture and I'd be all over Fizdale as head coach for starters.

Listening to Empire of the Suns from yesterday...

The major problem with this pod is that there is no balance. Kellan Olson is strongly opinionated, while Kevin Zimmerman is just... there. A sidekick. So Kellan's opinions are just constantly being reinforced.

They need a real second voice to provide some disagreement. There is no discussion. It's just one guy talking to his yes man, and the longer he talks, the more strident and confident he becomes.

But hey! Miles better than the Solar Panel, which is unbearable. NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOU, ESPO. THEY CARE ABOUT THE TEAM. TALK ABOUT THE TEAM AND NOT YOURSELF.

I also feel pretty bad for Sidery. He just doesn't appear to have the energy to sustain a pod by himself. Boy needs help.

If RAISINGARIZONA gets a realgm pod together - weekly or whatever - I am confident that we could put together the best Suns pod on the web.

Return to Phoenix Suns
